If it weren't for the large number of constantly changing monthly pre-order mount/pet/cosmetic packages, the lack of progress shown, and the overly aggressive and fake sounding PR marketing, I might be inclined to believe something is actually being developed.

I have no doubt they have a small playable demo made using ready-made engine and assets which they show off to investors, but honestly I can't believe folks are still buying into this game at this stage. Personally I think this game is a scam, and they are milking the pre-order packages for as long as they can by generating interest via these periodic PR moves.

I was debating between grumbly old men and grumbly old women. I determined that because most of the people in here are probably men, grumbly old women would make this most horrific of insults sting a little bit more.

I wanted to comment on one aspect they never covered in this interview and it's something we've been burned on with other games that shall not be mentioned by name (or maybe I will just because they really burned us lol). This is an MMORPG. But there has been no conversation on what exactly will be done for the role-players. You can't market a game as a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game.. and totally ignore the Role-players.

Will there be dedicated RP servers?

Will there be persistent profiles?

Will there be an easy to use chat system that helps foster good role-playing?

Will there be tools to help role-players like dice and RP markers to help RPers find other RPers?

Will there be protections against RP trolls or harassment?

In your interview you mentioned, without mentioning the name, a certain recently released game that uses similar territory control aspects. That game in particular lied to the role-play community, leading them to believe they were going to respect role-players and help foster an environment suitable for good fun role-play between players and when we actually got into the game, we found out no only was the game woefully lacking in any means to RP, if you RPed in the game it actually singled you out for ridicule and harassment by other players. Thousands of role-players flocked to that game, organized and helped promote that game because of the lies and promises made by Developers about how dedicated they were to the RP community. Thousands of role-players no longer play that game and their player numbers are still declining.

Will this be another New World or will Ashes of Creation actually put some thought and focus into fostering a healthy roleplay environment? It would be a shame for yet another game design company to lose sight of the fact that the people who stick around playing a game the longest, are the ones who have personal investment in the game; i.e... role-players.

So does Albion....I like how people who want every single mmo game to be just for them say nobody likes open world PvP. The PvE only crowd already ruined New World because they gobbled up every bit of PvE content on every other game and had to start terraforming potential PvP games. You can bet they are gonna buy this game anyway, knowing full well it is going to have pvp with consequence, and be in the forums for Ashes day 1 "This game is great but if you could scrap the whole meaningful consequences and pvp thing that would be great...thanks"

I don't think half the people that are angry in here are angry because they think this game won't be as good, or it could be vapor...They are mad because someone is making a game that isn't totally for them, exactly the way they want it. Imagine being so starved for content you buy a game knowing it isn't what you like and then complaining for it to change and ruining it for the people that like that type of game, instead of just going and playing one of several games that already exist for your style of play....

Like many you fail to understand PVE players have never ruined a single game with regards to PVP design, it's the developers who choose to cater to their requests or demands in the hopes of getting or retaining them as customers.

COE had/has fantastic Wiki information too!   Unfortunately, I can’t play a Wikipedia page as far as I know.
