New shiny things catch the eye of simple minded folks like yourself.
And what games would a sophisticated gentleman with refined tastes and unparallelled eloquence such as yourself play these days?
A coming of age story about a bitter troll living under a forum. It is PvP oriented but it also offers PvE if you have imaginary friends. There is no sub involved and the only thing its cash-shop sells is assisted suicide.

Since when is the number of game modes define the pvp content and its progression you can have? A lot of full pvp games are based on a simplistic base mode and play type.
Despite, LA devs add not only PvP islands that already existed, but now open-world PvP continents so this argument that the game can't offer proper pvp is silly
Literally every Battle Royale game ever.
It's the same exact game loop with a few curveballs thrown in based on which game. And they're immensely popular!
Yes exactly like BR's, simple game mode but the replayability factor does the trick.
The LA PvP is arena-based (where the pvp seasons and most progression is), traditional MMO GvG based, open-world PvP island events that surface on the ocean map, a full open world pvp continent faction vs faction, and larger scale match-based faction vs faction conquest.
That's why I say the PvP is doing just fine, it's seeing investment from the devs, it just needs to not messup on the balance factors and it's set to be a strong side of LA on the west as well.
Well thanks for all the info, if it has great PvP... then I'll give a look... why not, it's free to play.
The one that is proven is the arena modes, the GvG is interesting the larger modes are not that popular because it's not equalized, the new things are fresh adds but I like to see their investment on this to expand PvP further, it's not something that you can do from the early game tho so that's the build-up you do on PvE towards this content.
I think I will have to give up the idea of the mouse and just use a controller.
If indeed the energy thing is not like other games with lifeskills in the sense that you won't run out since it is not so heavy an investment like BDO and nowhere near the requirement in Archeage I will give this a try after the rush period. In about a month after release. I don't fancy the queues and rush in the beginning and the teething problems.
Can someone who has played the game and know about my inability to react fast and how I am quite slow in this type of action suggest a class I can play. Mind you I am using the controller which I also suck at.

Try Sorceress; looks like you can nuke from a distance with less movement. You can also use Blink to move around with less clicking.

Ranged I thought was hard to aim with a controller.
i recommend checking out classes on russian version while you got time, plus you can try classes not going to be available at launch
I checked out how to play on the Russian server on youtube. May do it but I am researching Solasta Magister of the Crown and Pathfinder Wrath of Righteous and it is so entertaining and time consuming I may just wait and play when game launches. Should not be long now.
Lot of really nice and diverse classes. Was watching vids on them. Good choices and I am a tad worried for my inability to choose and wanting to play them all.

Although you will have to compete with the new Fender Strat I just bought for my free time.

That is the advantage of it being F2P.
