I wish Vanguard got more love that it deserved. That MMO was truly incredible, in size and scope but sadly not enough time or resources were put into it. The classes they made were very unique and played way different than anything we have to this day
If this game was so good.. why did decay to the point that is was sunset.
Egotism is the anesthetic that dullens the pain of stupidity, this is why when I try to beat my head against the stupidity of other people, I only hurt myself.
I would like to see a new engine for LOTRO and Eve Online, not a remake. SWG definitely a remake without copying the WoW formula like SWTOR. I do love SWTOR as well and could see an UR engine upgrade per version 5 with cloud development like the Hero Engine has. I prefer a sandbox element with space and no more rails.
Oh good hell, if we are just going to toss out any old MMO at this point, I am gonna toss in my cards for DDO.

I've wondered that too. AC *was* good in a way. I've always thought it was due to EQ1 (and later DAoC and WoW and EQ2) steamrolling it. Their backbreaking monthly major event schedule may have contributed, I don't really know. Be nice to find out.
Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.

Most all people I know that left attribute it to the archaic UI and graphic/animations..

People can and will put up with lots of annoying things. EQ1's initial UI and graphics/animations were pretty dreadful, too. Steam even has stacks of games featuring 8-bit graphics.
I know I left AC because I was being pulled by so many other games. (Plus, I didn't really like the combat).

Yah, I'm having a bit of a hard time believing that the graphics were the issue, as UO has some pretty rough graphics as well, and was always doing better than AC.
I mean at it's peak, AC had around a little less than half the subs of UO.

Seems like it's time to fire up the ole Kickstarter machine, raise 5x the amount of money it originally took to develop these games, and "remaster" them into bug-riddled alpha-level shadows of themselves over the next decade!

Apologies about Asherons Call 2. It also got a couple mentions (3-4 I think ?!?), but they have been so unclear that I wasnt sure if it was a vote or not.
Part of what made SWG feel star warsy was the fact that you started out as a nobody, like Luke, like Anakin. A nobody trying to make it in the universe. Choose your path. I knew people who didn't even participate in combat at all and still made a living in game. I knew a group of roleplay entertainers who would dance by night, hunt for a living by day.
NGE killed that when they gave everyone Jedi. Jedi should have remained the hardest path. In fact I think it wold be cool if there was an Star Wars MMO with no playable Jedi. Leave that to the other games.
John Smedley: That straight sandbox games don't work. And that we needed to focus much more on the Star Wars experience. I think in the past, what we probably made was the Uncle Owen experience as opposed to the Luke experience. We needed to deliver more of the Star Wars heroic and epic feeling to the game. I think we missed there. That's what I think we really brought to the game [with the update].
Dude didn't get it; that was the charm of the game in the first place and had no idea what Star Wars was. I think what was frustrating was some of the mechanics like 90% armor and 300% buffs that made the game easy mode.

Best treatment of companions I've seen; you could place them in different formations or give them individual orders.
Tired of your 'cleric' rushing into the fight and having them die? Just order them to stay put and go in with your fighters.
