Perhaps I just don't know what to look for, what do bots look like?

    Like normal players I presume.

Set aside the video, in what ways have bots negatively impacted "your" gameplay?

Cash shop warriors killing you in PVP?  FOMO that others will buy their way to the top tier content ahead of you?  You won't be able to dominate the marketplace due to bot fed materials mucking it all up?

I only concern myself with bots and cheaters when their bad actions directly impact my fun and refuse to get worked up over what others say on the internet.

You're new to the game and didn't reach any content yet. Since you don't know I'm going to explain it.
There are certain islands perfect for farming Trade Skills, you go there late night because you think "no one will be awake during week day at 2AM to farm Trade Skills"... wrong, you have 20 bots spamming it and there's only 1 channel, oh well seems you can't gather efficiently, go back to random world grab and fetch gathering.
You need to buy Adventure's Tome Collectibles for a certain Continent, you go to the market and buy it from a player who doesn't care about achievments and just want's to make a quick buck... wrong, you buy it 200% higher than normal price because bots doing MSQ can farm thousands per hour and they conquered the market.
You need to buy crystals with gold because you need some insta tickets or something else from the shop and you don't wan't to pay real money, so you farm gold and buy it... wrong, you open the trade crystals page, you see the influx, you close the trade page.
This are some problems with bots.
The game had a way to be played, right now you're playing something much more difficult in terms of long time progression because the world economy is not being regulated by the players.
You'll understand everything when you really start playing the game, and I mean T3 dailly grind for years to come, months spent acomplishing a single achievment, etc...

Bots concentrate in certain areas doing the same activity, you are unlikely to see them in a hub for example unless you can do something there useful in terms of resources or xp. If you jump up and down in front of one and can elicit no reaction either in movement or chat its a bot.

Or ..you were jumping up and down in front of me last night.

I spent about an hour or so setting up my level 50 cube/ dungeon skills while watching Hulu so would never have reacted to anyone in the world as I've got skill screens and web guides covering my view.

Thanks for sharing these details, definitely something I didn't know and can certainly appreciate the problems the bots are causing in these scenarios.

The marketplace inflation is one most likely to impact my gameplay, I'm not much for middle of the night farming runs.

As for T3 grinding, we'll see if the game holds my interest long enough or if I ever reach such levels as I'm probably one of the slower players out there.

I've got about 130 hrs in and just now working on improving from 340 and start island hopping.

Oh yeah, probably should run some Guardian or Abyssal dungeons I suppose, but kind of waiting for friends to catch up as I loath pugging with randos ..who generally loath pugging with me.

I whole heartedly think this is a fun game and I realize that bots are inherent to all MMOs, but the current state is beyond the pail.  There are ant trails of berserkers running around low level zones.  There are just piles at every portal on the first couple islands.  They are all teleporting and clipping through maps and stuff, too, so it's not just a bot script like Glide or something.

I, in all honesty, have not seen this many bots so actively running around in such high density since Western Lineage before the shutdown.

I logged in for the head start and I haven't played since. While waiting patiently for the servers to come back up on launch day, I had time to watch a lot of videos about endgame progression and the various systems in the game that you have to progress through and they weren't something I was willing to waste my life on. I have no issue with a game being challenging, but leveling up cards? Not my cup of tea. Leveling up each tier of armor to +15 and it takes months to do so? Nope, a waste of my time. This game seems to have a target audience of people who spend all of their free time playing MMO's, not people who have careers, families, and other hobbies.

I found the game fun, just too much of a time sink to be worth investing time into.

Thanks for this, can't say I enjoy those activities much, so perhaps LA will be a more short term game for me.

Will enjoy what I can until it stops being fun.

The high level part of this game with its multitude of grindy options to improve your character's performance gives me a headache. It's too much and too many complex systems all of which are very unfamiliar to me - leveling cards was a good example you mentioned that illustrates this well.

I'm already logging in less and less now that I'm the point where getting your head around all that stuff is growing in importance.

I could research, watch guides and learn more about it but I'm feeling very unmotivated to do so.

That's what drove me away from BDO, this game isn't near as bad when it comes to enhancements ect.

I'm having fun, my friends are having fun.  The game isn't for everyone.  And the questing can be mind-numbing at times -- who am I kidding? -- The questing is 99% mind-numbing (and all the synonyms therein)  But the gameplay is fun.  Bots don't really effect me, I don't use the marketplace and my chat is a separate window with just my friends on it.  Every once in a while I will switch tabs and see if anyone is calling out a world boss or genuinely needs help.  But for the most part I am in my own little scantily clad world melting hordes of widgets with lots of pretty lights and sounds.

The game is bit like dropping acid and crawling into a pinball machine.

It all depends on how you play i guess.  If you are super casual and want to read every quest, explore and such yes it will take long.

For me i play 2hrs a day at night.  Im at 1000 gear score 100pts away from tier 3, but instead of watching videos on the loop systems I watched videos on how to use my time most efficiently.  I have one alt that I havent even used to funnel mats i got to 1000 just playing my main.  I havent spent any money outside of my starter pack. All those cards and engravings will come naturally, sure if you want to be top 1% you are going to invest the time and money if you want it to come quickly.  But be honest with yourself when was the last time you were in the top 1% in an mmorpg.

The point being im a casual aswell and im 1-2 days away from unlocking the last tier, dont let those loops make you feel like its going to be difficult to get there.

I find it interesting how different people's perception of a grind in MMOs has changed through the years.  I'm super slow at progression because I'm always getting side tracked (oh what's that over there???).  I'm still working on my tier 1, but I've been on a losing streak and can't get my last pieces to 15 (93-13 on attempts).  Even at my pace, I'd wager it took me longer to level something that would have been previously considered casual(LOTRO to 50, for example) than it will to reach Tier 3.

If you approach this as a race to 1400, I can't imagine it's very fun or cheap.  I like being able to pop in and do a little something and, even if it's side achievements, I'm getting stronger.  I'm playing the long game on this one.

They usually have names like epkrtepit or aldksnjlf. jefpkdjpd and most notable is when they are running around they "lag skip ahead pretty fast due to their  no clip and speed hack they all seem to have.

They tend to run in spam the elite mob and ran away skiplag quick or run in circles farming the region collectibles.

Some of them also run in a group like they are multi boxing, I tend to see beserkers running like this all one on top of the other doing the exact same moves and running to that same spot and place all together.

They are fairly obvious, annoying and have caused huge major inflation in the economy but I could be wrong on this one though.

I hadn't seen any obvious bots... until today.  I was trying to turn in a quest at the king and at least 10 characters were standing there, blocking all access.  Annoying as all get out, as I had to stand there about 10 minutes trying to get an unobstructed view of the king.

I also discovered that there is no obvious in the interface to report this kind of activity.  Major problem with the game!

That's awful and I guess this is exactly what too much popularity does to a game make it unplayable because of the bots. I've decided to drop the game for now.
