It's no surprise that Stormhaven Studios has been much more active lately when it comes to showing off their prize indie title. With Embers Adrift emerging from its Alpha cocoon into Beta testing this month, the team provided a short list of achievements that they accomplished in February in preparation for the Beta release.

From the recent stream of the game I watched it definitely isn't worth the price of what they are asking. 50 dollars box and 15 a month. Nah son.

Loaded it up this weekend but only had a few minutes to play. The character customization can use some extra work, but it's serviceable. Ran much smoother on my machine than it had a year or two ago (forget last time I loaded it up).

Only popped in for 5 minutes... so can't say much past that.

If it was B2P, I might have bought it down the line, but I'm not paying a forced monthly subscription. They think very highly of themselves if they think their run-of-the-mill indie crowdfunded MMORPG is any more special than the rest. In the end it will come bite them in the ass. Just like Pantheon - it will never be worth a monthly subscription and both games will suffer from low playerbase due to that, it may result in them either changing the business model or shut down.

I have watched some VoDs on Twitch of people playing it, and it looks laughably bad. From extremely primitive gameplay to awful character animations and lack of good lighting system (characters and objects don't even produce proper shadows) - it looks like a college project by a couple of people. There's absolutely no way in hell this game will ever be profitable and the developers should cut their losses as soon as possible by closing down the development of this game and selling all their art assets (the few ones they themselves created) on Unity Asset Store, disbanding the company and finding a job at existing and well-established companies.

I don't know playing only 5 minutes speaks volumes to me......

Not because of them but because I had to get out on the road for a weekend trip.

I wish them well with this, and I hope they pull in all the players that have been wanting a Sub model game, I hope this scratches that itch for them.

Nothing but best wishes for them.

Didn't even know the game existed so kudos to this site for making me aware. I'll have to go check it out.
