    Fuck.

    >:(

NFT's are looking to ruin more of my young adulthood.

I tried the game and it was really rough around the edges. I don't care about NFT crap, but the game is so bad that even for free it's still too damn expensive.

Last I played, the map and minimap were misaligned and it would show that I'm walking on ground when I was drowning in a sea. Another thing was you can complete the first quest in the game and immediately get some really rare gear - a whole set - boots, pants, chets, gloves, weapon.

    It's THAT bad.

It reminds me of that indie game Inferna Online, which tried to be a Metin2 clone, but it was a mishmash of Asian-themed buildings and Western-themed characters and armor, it launched I in December 2019 and now it's March 2022 and they still haven't fixed that, even though people complained about it back in 2019.

This will be my first opportunity to try out an MMO with NFTs baked in. From reading what info is in the post, it doesn't sound bad. Money spent can be mostly regained (I'm assuming) by reselling. I like the idea of selling characters and renting them out.

Sounds like things that were previously deemed illegal and resulted in bans are now game features. It makes me feels more scared than sad... not just about where gaming is going, but where Humanity is going.

A bit overdramatic, don't you think?

Curious though, for those that in general think it's a bad idea. Why?

Imagine trying to run any sort of difficult group content with someone who just rented out their healer toon.

And that's only touching on the possible detriments to the actual moment to moment gameplay experience.

AirBNB for characters.   What could possibly go wrong.

I see NFT's, and I pretty much drop this in the trash.

Sure there's going to be user error involved. What new feature doesn't have that?

Think of the benefits though. In the same vein, imagine lacking a healer and a guildmate being able to rent one so that important role can be filled internally? Sounds like a decent idea to me.

    So why level characters then?

My first thought would be to experience the story. Perhaps experience the content the way it was intended, experience the leveling journey. Depends on the game itself, doesn't it? At least in terms of the functionality, if it costs real money, I wouldn't want to continuously rent out a character, I'd rather level one.

Rise Online itself, I know nothing about beyond this article. So I couldn't say exactly.

Old school Eternal Knights from Ares here. I was hype until I saw NFT's. Hard pass now.

Sorry and I respect your opinion but this is one of the worst ideas I have ever heard of in a game.  Hope you find what you are looking for there but it will be a hard pass for me.

Hey guys!!!! I found the next bad thing!
Makes plain old P2W like this:

"...several NFT’s currently available, mostly in the form of costumes, with some bonus properties, such as XP and attack bonuses..."

    ...look tame by comparison.

Can't decide whether I wish it death by fire or by a thousand cuts.
