I used to play it and got to a decent level until I found out that runescape wasn't the only MMORPG out there. The game is crap. Simple as that. The only reason I played it was because I didn't know any better and it was the frst MMORPG I ever saw.
Well I can understand that seeing how the one thing that Runescape has going for it is lots of variety. Lots of trade skills and such. I guess it's ok for a newbie at MMORPGs but there's so much better stuff out there. And also no offense but if RYL and WoW are the only other MMORPGs you have played, you have no idea what you are talking about.

Agreed! Gotta love those people who say X game is the best MMORPG ever when they have only tried a few.
They need to fix this damn forums quoting, always gets screwed up.

Im not a newb to mmorpgs but no game has a smithing system like runescape and the weapon sets are simple i know what is the best (dragon hally) many mmorpg's get too deep in to weapons and have no smithing or real magic system

Some things I hate about runescape are the community and the trade skills. Wow, I can get my woodcutting up by chopping down trees..... Wow, real fun.
Also, the smithing in Runescape is crap. I hate how all the names of the items are either copper, iron, etc. It is not indepth because to make a copper helm, you only need copper. What about the feathers on top of the helm? Do they appear magically?

You're right, you just kind of remind me of that type of person which is why I brought it up. You haven't tried many MMOs but you come here to preach runescape and not give a very good run through on the game and why its supposedly really good.

i agree. i havent played too many mmorpg's but i have found one i like. shouldnt i support the one i like and know instead of saying "linage 2 is the best game ever" even tho i have never tryed it

How much I gave it a chance? I played it when it first came out, PvP everywhere, one server, no members, everyone acted 18+ years old. Don't tell me that I didn't give it a chance, because I did and liked it a lot until people who were 10 years old found out about it. Now, all these 10 year old fanboys who have played no P2P mmos think Runescape is the ultimate. No offense.

A. i am a member B. i am 16 C. how old are you 8, 9 tops i do not not think runescape is the ultimate but far from it but its only one of very few i have played including P2P so if you dont mind please get the facts before you rant and rave over how much runescape sucks. really i try to keep my cool but i dont serf for games to make fun of. honestly man how immature can you get.
I am not 8 or 9. I played this game a lot before. Now it is just immature. It is my opinion, what can you do to change it? Nothing except tell everyone to grow up.
Plus you assumed I said it sucks. I didn't say it sucks it is just immature.

I was level 81 combat, and i had 91 runecrafting...
But dam some noob hacked me, and now I say it sucks, and I hope that jagex goes and burn too hell

I don't really like the game eather. I never really did give it a chance though and I don't plan to. I am happy that it is out there though. Why, you ask? My cousin who is about 12 or something, one day his mom (my aunt) called and asked about a game called runescape and asked if it was safe to play. I told her that it was fine and go ahead and let him play. After I got off the phone a tear went to my eye as i realized that my cousin is going to be a hardcore gamer like me. Soon he will be asking about everquest3 or world of starcraft or something. Thank you runescape for showing my little cuz into the world of mmorpgs.

World of Starcraft.. mmMm thats an idea I never thought of. If they made that I wouldnt know what race I would wanna play!
Anyway, I couldnt get into Runscape. I got to lvl 7-11, can't remember. Was a bright colorful world, not detailed. Just didn't pull me in. I don't plan on trying it again with all thats currently available. Too many new ones for me to still try out.
I never played it that much, but I knew a lot of friends who did. Basically, my friedns that DID play it, were not hardcore gamers, only played RTS and mostly FPS games (and sucked at them). One day one of my friends tells me he gonna start playin this tottaly cool game called Runescape, he tell me about it and Im like go ahead. He quit in a week and told me never to go near it, I didnt think it was TOO bad, but thats my opinion.
But i mean, cant we all just get along ?
Can we please just give Runescape its own forum...?

If your looking for trade skills I would prefer playing UO.. UO is sooooo much better then Runescape and they are very similar in ways but UO is just a great improvment from that game. UO was my first mmorpg and probably alot of peoples first mmorpg.. If it werent for that game I wouldnt be so much into mmorpgs as I am now.. I heard about runescape from my friend becouse he didnt own UO. So I tried it and it reminded me so much of a rip off of UO it made me sick. Anyway my point is that if you like Runescape you will LOVE UO.
