I am back with a vengeance

I was playing Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous and hit a terrible snag that has stopped me in my tracks in Act 3 after like 120 hours in I am having a bad time with bugs so I have to wait till they patch this out.

I was flailing for a game I mean literally flailing had my hands see sawing and everything when I saw a piece of paper peeking out from my tower of papers that had city written on it. I grabbed it and just like that I am back in my alt galore.

I am doing Praetoria because I just love the writing. The missions are so good but the only problem is there is no Death from Above here so I am stuck doing the first few levels without just whizzing to 12 or something but I think Rogue Isles is worth it. Community is still fantastic in that they reply and say nice things and no one is being snide and rude... just wonderful these old game communities.

I am in so much trouble because when I went back and looked at all the characters I made I had absolutely no clue what did what and how to play. So I made a scrapper and my first mission I died to Vahzilok.... fiddlesticks. Jeez I forgot how much damage projectile vomiting can do. I decided  melee is not my cup of tea and went back to a trusty Mastermind. First mission with this level 20 had reds and purple. Okay back out that went badly too. So I am going to make a new Mastermind. 

I go to the forums and then to my absolute horror because every molecule in my alt blood was pumping like mad because hell yeah new secondary pools. I was like Dee Dee in Dexter's lab ... what does this do .... I am now elbow deep in builds and having a time of my life.

Awesome to read about someone actually having fun playing a game.

Doesn't happen often enough here I don't think.

I used to spend hours and hours in CoH/CoV making characters.  Tried to go back to the emulated version and just couldn't get into it.

But really fun times in there.   I remember I made a (Mastermind?) character that summoned helpers.   That was the first time I started naming pets after guildmates that weren't playing..  Made for fun times:

"Damn it Jason get the F out of the fire"
"Lex you couldn't hit the broadside of a barn!"

The best part is when they might join weeks later and find their alter ego's following me around.


CoH/CoV definitely was a bunch of fun.

I'm still having a blast in CoH. It is still the most friendly and good game for pickup groups. I regularly run random groups. I re-created all the old characters I had in the original game, and now many of those are maxed out. One character, Ziafyre, is over vet level 100.

Just a quick correction, this is not an "emulated" version. This is the original game, being run by volunteers.

I am not very original but here are three of them. The first is a poison MM, second beast MM and third is necromancy MM. If you click on the image it will be bigger

Actually making successful builds in this game isn't easy because the content can be very hard. It's adjustable but people really push it and even solo Task Force which is nuts because those need a whole team. The really good enhancements are also super expensive but the best part is all the theory crafting and ideas and even after all these years the game can be so much fun in groups.

It's amazing what they've done with the game.  The only downside I've seen is they've given players way, way too many character slots (like, 1000 per account per server), and players have proceeded to do what players do and reserve every name under the sun they can think of by creating dozens of heroes that just sit there.

1000 slots on each server is completely bonkus.

"X don't you dare leave us or I'm gonna name my lizard pet after you!"

To this day I do it.  Each pet in Lost Ark is a former guildie or one just not playing.

To this day I do it.  Each pet in Lost Ark is a firmer guildie or one just not playing.

That is it! I will resub to WoW, create a Death Knight and call its undead pet Ghouldemami!

I know you enjoyed EQ2 alot over the years...Did you ever play EQ1? I always thought it was the much better of the two but I am more of a grinder than a quester.....

I played in 1999 for a few years and on P99  a few years back.

good game. But, I enjoyed making my characters more then actually playing the game. LOL
