Best part of diablo immortal is that random people started complaining about mobile monetization as if blizzard just invented it. Where you been for past decade lmao.
It was Blizzard's first time going all in on it though wasn't it? The uproar is warranted against them for jumping on the bandwagon.

Blizzard brought all the AAA, high profile series, publicity and attention to the silent world of mobile sleaze. It didn’t bring big numbers, it brought big attention and scrutiny. As it should.

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'

I only make £75k a year, sadly that means i am too poor to be able to afford to play Diablo Immortal and i do not want to play the poor man version of the game
Diablo 3 made $200m in the first 24 HOURS. Not including Real Money Auction sales, Reaper of Souls or Necro DLC.
Elden Ring made at least $440 million.
It shows that companies earn 10x more when they actually put effort into creating something instead of cloning some trash chinese p2w game.
Elden Ring also has no DRM what so ever and was available to pirate 1 minute after release.
Take Diablo 2 Remake for example, blizzard added online-only mode to milk users with future cash shop shit. It would have made so much more money if it was the same as d2 with offline mode and allowed users to mod it like the original d2.
Maybe they will finally learn when Microsoft buys them out and fires their useless designers.
The thing is D-Immortal will earn way more over some months then those you mentioned. Those game that you mentioned have a peak of revenue when the game goes live and after that drops significantly, a mobile game just keeps going and going and eventually will catch up and surpass the B2P games in revenue. The only thing is I hope it won't happen and those idiots that still pay for D-Immortal stop supporting such BAD bad games. Those games are simply build on MTX and are bad, but profit is the only endgame for Blizzard with diablo immortal and the average gamer is not taken into consideration...those that love the diablo franchise. I hope China keeps them on the BAN list so that Blizzard is forced to change this BS...
and this is what we talk about all the time....Easy programming, easy format, easy money.....and we wonder why we aren't getting any new MMOs anytime soon?
So, this data is based on a website that is non-reputable and another software that has no figures for sales? Why don't we wait for the actual figures. I am guessing it is about 1/4 of the shown amount.

Hardly jumping on the bandwagon. They own Candy Crush.

I spent $5 and to be fair, I played $5 worth of content easily, so is it worth it? Sure considering I can barely even get a loaf of bread and peanut butter for $5 anymore.
I did uninstall not because of the lazy monetization but because Blizzard hasn't really said shit about the game, They haven't detailed any events, nothing to hype players. So it's like, this feels like vaporware. Also woopy freaking do on the "improved" battlepass they hinted at, ugh.
Anyways I reinstalled because my partner can't bring herself to quit because of the clan she joined. I barely play it, the whales are cannibalizing themselves with drama though, so that is entertaining at least.
Well so much for playing for free, but $5 is hardly raiding the bank. The fact you were able to stop shows you have the willpower to handle the addictive side, it just concerns me that not everyone will be able to do that.
Do you think it was time well spent? One of the main reasons I didn't play DI or LA was that I worked out that it would not hold my interest for more than a few weeks. I weigh up how much enjoyment I get out of a new MMO release, as opposed to something I am sure about, the sure bet always wins.
That said even though I played BDO for 3 months and left due to the weapon and armour leveling system, I still thought it was time well spent. It can be hard to tell before you join as you can't be sure what the game will offer. Whaling with the guild in BDO was a highpoint, I would not want those three months back.

BDO is oddly addictive, but then, i spend most of my time sailing a Caravel either bartering or trading, its kind of relaxing and costs me not a thing though i have spent money on the game in the past, as with all games, whether or not they are worth the time depends on how much enjoyment you will get out of it, i enjoy sailing, in Eve Online i enjoyed mining, quite a bit, but in the end i walked away from Eve because i was fed up with their punishing subscription model, i do prefer subbed games generally, i just don't like it when the sub is raised substantially to pay for those who do not.
The fact that the pay wall becomes very apparent at endgame grinding is the very crux of the most intense criticism of its monetization model: it is heavily targeting the game's most faithful demographic. The folks who play far beyond the campaign's end.
That's why it left such a bad taste in people's mouths. They laser-targetted their core franchise fanbase with a predatory model back-loaded into the exact game systems the franchise base love about these games.

Me neither, but I cheated: uninstalled on the next day.
