8 years of development and its not even close. By the time this game comes out it will be out dated and no one interested.

I love the idea of Pantheon and really hope to play it. I would consider buying a package... but NOT without any sense of expectations on when it might be done.

I know some will say it's better to say nothing than to lie. And that's of course true but a false choice. Give me some kind of a window.. 18 months if all goes perfect... 36 months if we hit roadblocks we do not see...

    Something like that.

But I just cant toss money at them knowing it might be another decade... or more.

"This month, the team also takes a deep dive into near death...."

I thought this was in reference to their funding almost running out, had to be getting close to the edge. ;)

$2.4M is great of course, but the real question is how close to launch does that get them, 100% of the way (probably not) or something less.

Not really that great if they still need another $15M and 5 years to release something fun to play.

Small company, had to restart twice, had funding issues, the head of the company died ...

    I'm not surprised.

Making things can be time consuming. Making things and then changing direction or giving in to feature creep is definitely time consuming.

This game's "idea" was already considered outdated when it was announced and only for people who wanted a more old school experience.

So, for someone like me, it doesn't matter if it takes another 5 years, I'll be there  to play it.

    "If" it launches of course.

I wouldn't be so fast to say "no one" would be interested as there are plenty of people interested. Whether they are  enough to keep it afloat is another thing entirely.

They have moved the entire game development into some awesome tools, one of these systems they built themselves, other game studios are paying VR to use it. Since these new tools have been added. Its shocking the speed they are making the game.

My worry right now is I think they maybe trying to make the world too big. They are making very large detailed areas very quickly. The design looks awesome. Filling large areas with content is allot of work. I think they may have fixed one problem. Small team with the ability to make a world at a timely manner. Now fixed. To now the problem, they can do this easily so they are making a large world that will need content that will take longer to make with such a small team.

This may or may not be a problem. As the EQ community did not need allot of handholding but VR is trying to not make a EQ clone, but a modern MMO with the soul of EQ kept in tact. Will be interested to how they roll out content.

Why I dont come here much any more... If you have been following the games development. A year or so ago, the game was disassembled and brought back to grey boxes. Watching the latest development videos. The speed they have gone at is very fast for a team of just under 10 people and 3 of them only were hired in the last couple months. With their new tools, and data stack. Not just world building but also building things like classes, perception quests and other content. You can now go back to the regular game bashing and spending time not talking about the current topic. Enjoy your derail.

So how much money has been raised by selling this incredible tool they built to speed development?  And what’s the ETA on the game launch?

    Or even Beta?

If you have to ask you are not worthy to play Pantheon!

At least that's how the defense squad comes across.

It is totally fair to ask when is it coming out, or if $2.4 M takes them to the finish line. (It doesn't)

I don't care how great their tools are, 10 people puts them at the same size as Embers Adrift.

    2025 is the optimistic view.

Most of those voters don't actually post here :)

I think Heinrich or one of the staff posted a link on their Discord and they came over to hype it and then leave.

But we cant really have positive or negative discussion on Pantheon.  So far all we can talk about is it's development and that has been, indisputably...  disappointing to put it in the most mild way.
