As far as legal issues are concerned, defamation or derogation (I hope I've used the right terms, English is not my mother tongue) is indeed an action that legal action can be taken against. However, in order for a statement to be derogative, it must be proven that the one who stated it had previous knowledge of the invalidity of the comment, he consiously made a false claim.
If the thread starter's purpose was to create negative hype about the game using false claims, then Irth Online may take legal action. This is a legal measure to protect individuals against false claims that try to discredit him or cause financial loss.
In our case, I believe that the thread starter claimed what he thought was true, he did not make it up to harm Irth Online. He was mistaken though and he should not rush in making such a claim without first trying to see if others have been infected by the game's patcher.
Currently playing: * City of Heroes: Deggial, Assault Rifle/Devices Blaster. Server: Defiant. * City of Villains: Snakeroot, Plant/Thorns Dominator. Server: Defiant.

I see my previous post was deleted so I will repost: You are not much of a developer either. It was deleted for that? Oh man... somebody seems overly sensitive.
if devs would be openly attacked every time they post here, mmorpg.com would lose even the last bits of support they have and would go bankrubt, good business always requires some brown nosing.
In all honesty, I do not like Irth ...that is my opinion. Now I am waiting for this simple "anti-Irth" statement to be deleted.

LOL, so I get my post deleted because it would appear someone was being overly sensitive? Nice censorship.

Everyone should be entitled to there opinion about a game. If all the honest negative opinions were deleted on this site, then all that would be left are game promos and "Every game is wonderful" messages. If the messages are filled with obscenities, then, yes, delete them. But if it's simply an honest expression of a personal dislike of the game, then what's the purpose of deleting it?

There's difference between saying that I don't like a game and going to a dev and saying u suck without giving slightest detail on which he would form his opinion upon.
Fact is, that guy tried to hijack a thread, got deleted, reposted it and got spanked.
Blame Hillary Clinton and the liberal way of political correctness that's rising.

I don't see anything that uses the word "suck" ...except within your comment. Though I suppose it was implied and true, I agree with you ...the thread was being hijacked. These forums would be filled mostly with deleted posts if "Hijacking" were strictly enforced.

Careful, Kishe. I don't think it is a good idea to suggest that MMORPG is on the take with any developer.
Originally posted by Kjarl I downloaded the game and couldnt move once I got in, the lag was horrid even for a beta. The game is supposed to come out in 2 weeks. I think I will Pass. But thats just me.
Hey man, I know from your posts that you are a decent person, so I'll waste some time on you . Try again this time turn shadows off, names off and view distance to 1k or less. All names can lag you and you don't need them, shadows will kill your memory also as they are very detailed and there are a ton of them. Turn water level to 1 or 2 also if you start as Mezotek.
Again, turn view distance to 1k or less and names off and shadows to 1 and water to 1. This will make the lag dissapear completely. Hard to believe that you logged in and quit that fast, but hey maybe you were just impatient that day. The game looks great and they add content very frequently, it's really shaping up and has a very UO pre-tramel feel.
