One of the users of unofficial Camelot Unchained subreddit found the public filing of CSE selling more equity in exchange for $10,000,000.
https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1728063/000172806322000001/xslFormDX01/primary_doc.xml
The document was signed this month, 10/20/2022, and this public information is available for free directly from SEC's government website.

This does not show how much he is seeking, but clearly he is looking for more cash.

So reading this SEC document, it shows Total Offering Amount $10 Million USD, Total Amount Sold $0 USD, Total Remaining to be Sold $10 Million USD. Does this mean he has received / is receiving 10 Million or that he is offering 10 million to a potential future buyer if he finds someone?

Maybe if he gets $10 Million those refunds will finally be processed en masse.

    Anyway good find User298

About 2 months ago Mark said he would soon have an announcement about something he'd been working on which had kept him personally from doing any development work since the first of the year.

Securing more funding was the odds on favorite guess as it became apparent actual progress had slowed significantly.

Probably has something to do with one of his other cofounders listed in the filing who probably has connections to raise more funding, this also from the notCU subreddit

"also lists karen lauder in the filing, a hollywood producer of straight to dvd movies, and former investment banker, who lists herself as a founder of CSE on her profile on her production company's website."

Isn't she related to him somehow, sister maybe?

It means that he has not sold them yet.

But on the form they have selected rule 506(b) which means they will not publicly advertise this or solicit investors for this. They have also told that they won't use a broker or a dealer, and there will be no sales commissions or finder's fees paid. When put together those look like they already know who will give them funding and are very close to finalizing that sale, and that this form has been submitted as part of the paperwork of that sale.

It's me. I'm totally giving him that $10 million. He told me I could design and name my own space ship,  make me the owner of the admirals club, and give me the in game title of Grand Narwhal! Dude, who wouldn't if you had the money? Oh wait, Mark Jacobs doesn't run Star Citizen?...

Camelot Unchained was one of two (or was it 3? lol) games I crowd funded.  Two released.. one was crap in my opinion and the other was decent but I didn't stick around.  So I remember he/it exists because I get emails about it now and then.

I don't think I've ever even logged into a test for Camelot Unchained.

It just reminds me of how I was still playing DAoC on the Classic Cluster.  I remember it was around when Aion launched that they decided to force us into the TOA Cluster and that was the end for me and most of the group I played  with.

It's kind of sad in the sense that there was still a very healthy population of people playing then.  Well I don't honestly remember much about Midgard... but both Hibernia and Albion had large numbers nightly as well as 8 man etc

Aha looks like your memory banks are still functioning at a high level. I just did a quick search and you are correct, she is indeed his sister.

In 2016 he was promoting a Nieces movie and mentioned the following  "In other CSE-related news, as many of you know, one of our investors, Karen Lauder, has been involved in the entertainment industry for decades,.....And as always, for the purposes of full disclosure, Karen was formerly Karen Jacobs, and she is my beloved sister,"

Well, unless I've badly misunderstood, Jacobs is looking for another $10 mil, he hasn't found it yet.  So, a more appropriate title for this thread should be "Mark Jacobs is looking for more people to donate to him/CU".

There's a previous SEC filing for CSE, at 2018, for $7.5 million. It was made when this announcement happened:
    https://www.gamesindustry.biz/city-state-entertainment-lands-usd7-5m-from-mythic-investors

While the filing itself does not mean they already got the money - I think it's safe to say that someone did offer them those $10 million this year and that they will eventually receive them.

To spend that money on development, I presume the game will need at least another two to three years. Maybe we will see and early access then. :)

    Point of order:

How do we know he is duping investors?  Those folks have access to his actual plans, budgets, cash reserves etc...  It is quite possible, even likely, that they know much more than we do.  Now this does not mean that it's good for US the fans because we do not know exactly what that money will be used for.  Maybe its back to mobile games based on The Wizard Of Oz...

I'll add that there are people out there with quite a bit of money who could very easily be persuaded to throw a few bucks someone's way with the possibility of making some more money but "no worries if it doesn't pan out."

That's essentially what Angel Investing is about I think.

Sadly, that is what is working in this environment.  People are buying a novel and pretending its a game.

Yeah your right I should give it another decade of no news or 3 decades of trickle news for it be counted as dead, thats how this crowd funding stuff works aka its not over until its over.

Give it as little or much as you want. It's not as though it matters as to the ultimate failure or success of the game.

This is not unlike the death predictions for games already released that keep on going year after year despite the endless naysaying.

It's indeed not over until it's over.
