Rather interesting for fans of Lineage II. China seems serious in striking down against all online wrongs.

Im of the opinion that any Government that has time to even think about online games... let alone legislate in relation to them, has far too much time on its hands.

On the other hand... to continue my quest to put the blame where it is deserved... we have this from the article :

"Use of bots is a frequent problem in online gaming, and most game publishers have invested heavily in trying to eliminate them from their games. "

I chortle in delight.... Let me rephrase this statement into real world language.

The experienced devs and managers of this online game have been defeated repeatedly by a combination of their own apathy and superiority of self belief, by a Japanese teenager with a scripting hobby.

    Truly laughable!!

    You don't have sports there?

For years, in the States, there's been a lot of issues about sports, including steroids, cheating, foul playing, and others. In the recent months, some sports players have actually been called to Washington to testify infront of our government.

They're both just games. For them, online games are their national past-time. South Korea, for instance, actually has channels dedicated to online gaming (specifically, MMORPGS; even more specifically, Lineage.), not different from our ESPN channels.

    They're all just games. :)

I don't agere with a government agency coming in to stop this. Governments should focus on bigger problems. I think they choice of catching botters, scammers, and cheaters should be left up the game developers. I wish there was a way to stop but it is also a part of real life. At least this way when it does happen to you, you loose fake stuff and not real stuff.
