Pantheon Dire Lord Video

It's not too long, it explains what a Dire Lord gets and has some game play which is what I would have asked to see so I can't really complain about the format for this video. It still put me to sleep and was about as exciting as paint drying. Could have just summed it up with we will have Shadow Knights from EQ.

Maybe it's just the 1-10 newbie stuff but this was boring and bland. Did nothing to get me excited about this game. In fact the opposite I'm just more put off by how mundane this looks and sounds.

I just don't know how anyone can look at that and go OH WOW they get a taunt, dot and lifetap... they use essence instead of mana truly cutting edge innovation here.

I want to see something impressive. I want a game like EverQuest only with today's modern tech that really blows away what they did back then with something fresh and new but the same foundation like a old car with a new paint job, interior and engine under the hood. Sadly this is not it. This is more like going from a 67-68 Ford Mustang to a Nissan Cube.

Bah that's it for me and my crappy car analogy... /sigh

Yeah, well, I dont think so.

Instead of something overly trivialized and mainstreamed for the masses as so many other MMORPGs it seems like they are going to the other extreme, aiming for something so overly complicated that even a geek like me doesnt actually want to play it anymore. No local map, no pointers where your group comrades are, no quest markers, ... what ?

That wasnt what attracted me to Vanguard at all !

I dont want quests who do too much handholding, but I also dont want complete obscureness.

We really would have needed a good game designer like Brad McQuaid leading this project. Instead we have people trying to create EverQuest with better graphics. Cant one still play the original ?
