If you could ask for one game to be developed ... ?

Okay lets say some developer studio asks you what game they should develop next.

What would be your answer ?

MMORPG based on the Dragon riders of Pern.

Players could come together to battle the periodic thread falls and during the lull periods battle each other for territory control. (flagable PVP of course)

I had a chat with Anne Mccaffrey decades back, not sure she would be pleased with the idea (she is passed now), back then she did't even want any more DoP video games at all! There had only been one I think and it did not do that well.

Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn. The magic system is so innovative. A game in that world would be so very interesting.

Or Farscape the game that would be divine.

Corum, the Prince in the Scarlet Robe. Open world adventure.

Dune the MMORPG, with DAOC territory control and three factions (I am not that greedy) at launch.

Probably unsurprisingly for anyone who follows what I post, I would ask for a valid Vanguard successor. That means a MMO optimized for good longterm motivation for playing it. The most important features, in order of importance, would be something like:

    - A good variety of opponents who have different strategies and force you to adapt, and who offer a good level of challenge, including bosses who really need a good group and raid bosses that need a specific strategy for each of them.

    - Complex classes that play substantly different from each other and that offer a nice level of challenge, each with a primary task, but also a nice level of variety to what they can do. I kept working on how to best play my Cleric and later my Dread Knight, and I never felt done, despite having over 100 days of playtime on my Cleric after playing it for about five years, before switching my main character to a Dread Knight instead.

    - Great handmade dungeons and great longrunning questlines with good storytelling. Also multiple dungeons per levelrange, allowing you to do different content on different characters.

    - Strong support for all types of social interaction, like grouping, mentoring, guilds, raids, channels etc.

    - Secondary spheres of progression like crafting and alternative progressions like mounts/ships etc, and housing

Well this is out of the top of my head, I should probably work it out much better.

Yup, while I dont need top notch graphics, there is definitely a level of low quality graphics that I just find too intolerable.

And call me shallow, but if I am to enjoy a character, they have to look great.

But for me current day Lotro will do, it does not have to be BDO standards.

Warhammer 40k MMO or MMO-lite game (ala Destiny) that was actually good and stayed close to the lore. So many opportunities for great storytelling.

    MMORPG: Star Wars Galaxies 2.0

RPG: I have so many ideas for a single player RPG, and I dont think there is anything similar playable right now. So, this would be mostly my own design. But, I'd still need a good IP to base it on, so I'd try to go for Feist's Midkemia / Riftwar Saga. But, this would be a single player sandbox RPG.

Strategy: Total War: Warhammer 40,000. Creative Assembly are very hit-and-miss with their total war games. Some are absolutely amazing, some completely miss the mark. So, I'd be hoping for CA at their best, making a 40k game.

Sim: Sci-fi Cities Skylines. I absolutely love C:S, it's an amazing sim game and im happy there is a sequel this year. But, I'd love it to be sci-fi themed, saving me a bunch of time modding it!

Sim: Planet Dino. Frontier did an amazing job with Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo, then they completely dropped the ball with their Jurassoc World Evolution games. So, give me Planet Zoo, but with dinosaurs! (Prehistoric Kingdom is close, but still missing a ton of features).

A good...GOOD 40k MMO.  Planets, ship customization, race customizations.  Plenty of expansion possibilities (Factions, new planets.....)  Mech customization.  I stress GOOD.  Games Workshop is pretty liberal with it's IP to any swinging richard with 2 coppers and a beer.

Wheel Of Time MMO. I have been reading the books since the start and reread them many times. I so want to get lost in that world.

Yeah I have them all since the first one came out.  If does get repetitive in later novels and I personally didn't love the Sanderson finale, but it's not like there was a choice in that.  I just hope if they made such an MMO they would hew close to the books and not the TV show.

Could we align with the Dark One and play folks loyal to The Forsaken?
Lots of potential.  He created a fantastic world.

I have a premise inspired TBC. Factions vying for power and resources to rebuild on the remnants of a broken world. The splendor of a golden age lost in the cataclysm. Entire lands decimated, kingdoms lost and forgotten. Forces of darkness corrupting the land to finish the job. Forces of light retaining the last bastions of civilization. Stories of kings, politics, tribal warlords, hope, tragedy, revenge, valor, family. People trying to make a new start for themselves. Searching for clues in deep and hidden places of what could be their salvation on this dying world.

A World of Darkness game mixing action and cut-throat politics. Mainly vampires, plus a touch of werewolves/vampire hunters/whatever on the side.

Well, after reading far far too many Isekai litrpg's i kind of think that would be fun too, though probably only be suitable for a single player rpg.  The idea of summoned heroes of which all have a 'unique' ability is hardly new, but just maybe.. Still, i would really like to see a Traveller based MMO, never going to happen, but it would be kind of awesome.

I would love to see it as a faction war type game. There is so many ways you could create factions. Maybe make the Blighted Lands be a PvX area. I would not even be upset if they told another time on the wheel so it did not conflict with the books. Even Lews Therin's golden age.
