Something to Play Music On

ScotScot Member LegendaryPosts: 24,420
Here's the problem, my dad likes music and does not like pushing buttons or looking at screens. So something like Alexa would be great but he does not have an internet connection and there is no way I could convince him of getting one.

So I am looking for something that can store and play music (not just radio stations) that uses voice activation controls. Any ideas?

You could consider a standalone voice-controlled speaker like Sonos One or Bose Home Speaker 300 that can play music from local sources or a dedicated music player like Mighty Vibe or SanDisk Clip Sport that allow you to load your own music and control playback using voice commands or physical buttons. Make sure to choose a device that is compatible with your dad's music sources and has an easy-to-use voice control interface.

Well he doesn't have music sources as such, the idea is I will download the tracks on to the device from what I can get online (lots of stuff from the 40' and 50's) and then just take it to him. I will look at the ones you mentioned, thanks a lot.

I have had a look at the ones mentioned, but I am looking for something to use in a room so the Mighty Vibe looks too small, also they all seem to need internet access?

You might want to consider a device like the MyVolts battery-powered Alexa, which can store music offline and respond to voice commands. It’s perfect for playing stored music without needing an internet connection.

For your dad, a good option could be a music player like the Sony NW-A105 Walkman, which stores and plays music without needing an internet connection, though it lacks voice controls. For more tech options, check fitbit site for reviews; it offers insights on devices with various features, though some may require internet.
Thanks for providing such a useful source. I really like it. Are you familiar with Reved Merch for events and parties?
