I don't know, maybe they have bigger things to worry about at this point.

I played for a few months when Resto first released. Lots of fun! Highly recommended. I would still be playing if not busy with other games.

Well, I thought I'd try the game for the first time. But:

    - my email server is not allowed. I run my own domain with my own email, it won't allow that.
    - so I tried my gmail account, and got "Server error, try again later" as the message. Not that helpful.

So far, not getting a good feeling ...

edit: although I got the system error, I was able to create an account using the gmail address.  Started downloading the game and it froze at 68%. Sigh.

This is an understatement, with what they've been doing in the political world and the movies they've been putting out flopping or barely covering production costs along with how the current economy is and not as many people going to their theme parks, they've got so much on their plate that they have only managed to mitigate some of it by laying off workers to make their stock price go up.

On a side note I'm seeing a trend across the stock market big companies announce layoffs and blam their stock prices go up, hoping this doesn't become contagious.

I mean as recently as February, they are claiming increased attendance over the same time last year and projected to continue increasing: https://wdwnt.com/2023/02/disneyland-and-walt-disney-world-attendance-rising/. Don't really care about a company one way or the other, but as easy as that was to find, be curious the validity of the other statements.

That aside, great to hear the milestone. I really enjoyed SWG, but have never gotten into any of the emulators. I accepted that door had closed when I originally left the game, but always tempting to give it a try. May be better then pining for all the "spiritual successors" that never delivered (Repopulation comes to mind).

I played for a few months when Resto first released.
I tried it and don't know if something wasn't working right or I had just forgotten how attacks worked way back when, but I found the attack procedure to be annoyingly slow.

No 'white attacks' from just the mouse clicks, but having to wait each and every time for the basic attack cool down before I could shoot again.

While that might have been workable back in the day, I've gotten used to the quicker style of attacks since then.

    ----
I've got a couple characters on SWG: Legends.  1 I played up to max via quests and then did the Freelancer Pilot route to Ace, and a 2nd character I'm just leveling up as a Tie Pilot.

I have found that once I hit max on my main, I pretty much lost all the omph to play him anymore.  Very much a 'ok, I've done it and I'm done'.  Granted I know there's more to do at max and did it back on the original game, but just don't have the interest to do it on Legends.

    SWG (pre-cu) - AoC (pre-f2p) - PotBS (pre-boarder) - DDO - LotRO (pre-f2p) - STO (pre-f2p) - GnH (beta tester) - SWTOR - Neverwinter

That's me exactly. Even with the "correct" auto-attack, combat is soooo slow. Removal of this foundational combat mechanic to "combat afk play" is just straight up lazy and be defeated with any object you can use to keep the mouse button pressed. Every toon you see has 1-2 afk toons in tow with some form of afk play. great job restoration.

I played on here for a couples months. I mainly liked creature handler but the only way to get any type of good creature was buying it from a bio-engineer. You can't even tame any high level creatures. No rancor babies, literally nothing on mustafar was tameable, not even a lava flee which they made so you had to buy it from a merchant after getting badges. Almost nothing on Dathomir, save for the kwi or reptilian flyers that you could make into useless mounts.

They also nerfed credits from space down. 30% less credits from selling space loot along with drastically reducing the money from killing ships.

The really big drama where 90% of my guild left for legends, including all officers and leadership, was when some players made a guild called Death to make fun of another player who found out he had cancer and the devs did nothing about it.

In  short the main Aconite guy is pretty crap and it's a janky mess that still uses a bunch of holdover stuff from the NGE, like creature eggs, along with horrible nerfs and really doesn't come close to the Combat Upgrade it touts itself as being.
