Over the past couple of weeks more adbots seem to be getting through than normal, or maybe its just the time I log on?
Not just that but there was a troll account a few days ago that I assume
targeted Joseph. Angry banned user I most likely, thought it was dealt
with within an hour, sadly the bots with their sus links remain.

Sounds like that guy who was the only person I have ever reported in twenty years on here, his personnel and family attacks were beyond the pale.

Yesterday Oct 26th 2023 around 5:20ish PM EST all of the recent posts were from 2 bots.
I know it kind of ebbs and flows around here where its like a bot takeover then something is changed and its good for some time but feels like an infestation currently.
Unfortunately we have noticed an uptick in silly bots attempting to disguise themselves as our humble forum goers for a few weeks. We are working on numerous changes on the backend, including some related to figuring out how to stop the Adbot Army from overloading our forums with their particularly annoying brand of commentary.
We as MMORPGers were here first and we enjoy our own patented brand of annoying commentary, and we never want that to change.
In the meantime, if you notice some bots slip through, feel free to drop me a message and I'll provide a BAN-aid. Stay strong MMORPG friends!

Yesterday Oct 26th 2023 around 5:20ish PM EST all of the recent posts were from 2 bots.

A bot can quite easily take over the Latest Forum Activity doing four posts in a minute. They could probably do four in four seconds but that's a bit too obvious I guess.
Much like Kyleran's nightmares about a Zombie apocalypse, the ad-bots are out in a horde today.

We're currently still trying to find a fix for bot squashing, though with the rise in technology these days it has become more difficult in some regards. I have upgraded some of my ban powers, so flagging should be far more efficient from here on out! I'm working through the backlog of flags, so keep those flags flying!
We also appreciate those that have requested consideration to party up as mods for group bug squashing. We are looking into the prospect of adding more mods to the team to dole out more DPS to those dastardly bots.

AI can beat captcha now. Defeating the bots problem isn't trivial. The solution will probably eventually lead to draconian identity schemes, like passkey, with some sort of biometric and government ID tie-in.
