Diablo 4 holds event that hardly any one attends

Did the organisers screw up or is this a more serious problem?

Reddit thread was quite busy with speculation and conspiracy theories. The thread seems to have garnered 1.3k upvotes which is more than the number of people that turned up for the event. I myself was disappointed in the game and am hoping to see improvements and I hope this lights a fire under their butt to do something.

Aren't Koreans gaga over anything Diablo?

I think Koreans care more about Lost Ark than D4 due to sucken cost. Lost Ark is essentially a job.

D4 probably doesn't have enough P2W for Korean tastes, besides, they all are probably playing Diablo Immortal on their smart phones.

You're probably right about Lost Ark.

I find it very odd that there was basically no crowd at all.  Wouldn't the participants and organizers friends and family show up?  I know the game isn't popular but something doesn't at up.

"Blizzard doesn’t release its player number figures directly, but according to Active Player, Diablo 4 currently has an active player count of 6.6 million users in the last 30 days."

I think we can say calling the game unpopular is a bit premature or uninformed. Wouldn't surprise me if WoW had fewer players.

DIV could be regionally unpopular in a market where Lost Ark is especially well received.

Domestically, reception has been mixed which is essentially a failure as the game should have been such that it was widely seen as spectacular.

Instead some see it as good, some bad, and a fair number essentially reacted with meh. Hopefully they will bolster that or they may be in trouble before long when some of the new ARPGs announced arrive.

Don't worry guys there is always another next great hope down the line, may the hype be with you. Gaming today relies on one thing, players not being able to learn a lesson, and our community shows time and time again that they can't.

I should point out I think they will turn D4 around, just not sure how much, slapping on some content will take time but they will do it. Not sure about the grind issues, that would take a change to gameplay which goes to the core of the game.

All the data you see here are sourced from various online statistics provider which may not be 100% accurate. Stats from other platforms such as but not limited to PlayStation Network, Nintendo, Mac Users, Android and iOS. So, you may notice massive difference in other statistics data.

This is what active player says about their numbers. Don't really trust the numbers. The people I know who are my friends have all stopped playing waiting for changes. I have too.

While Diablo is extremely mainstream, these articles (and their sites) are definately not.  Reddit even, get your info on a main site, go to an off site.  Regardless, in my opinion D4 catered to far to the mmo crowd without offering mmo incentives.  It's a single player game, bolstered (made hard) by its community aspect.  I personally think something more akin to PoE's gameplay would benefit it.  I don't care for PoE,s) game/endgame, but I've played a ton of characters till endgame.  D4, 40ish.............

Looking at the size of the arena, I would argue this seems to be more of a marketing issue than gaming popularity issue. They clearly did not expect many people to show up as that arena holds very few and given they way its displayed and organized, its far fewer than it holds. I think the whole story is not available yet but people are using it to fit the "D4 sucks" narrative.
I think it is fair this is used as an indicator, but yes it has been seized on my some (I don't think Cheyane is one of those) to show D4 is history which is incredibly over playing it.

Far from hating D4 I want them to fix it so I can roll alts and make builds and play it like I play other arpgs. That is what these games are meant for to make different builds to push the boundaries and tackle the harder dungeons. Get rid of the stupid tokens.

Basically got scammed for the purchase price is how the game feels right now. Others can play it or not play it and can offer reasons for or against as to why it's good or not good. Me, I think it sucks. but if you want to play it then go for it. Got ripped off more for something I only played for half as much before in the past so, it's ok.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.

I think the price being too high is a genuine concern, but then it is for so many games that come out now.

What MMO aspects does D4 even have beyond the gathering of resources? Nothing integral to play, that's for sure. They didn't go far enough if their goal was to further transition to an eventual Diablo MMOARPG.

Things that are bolstered are supported or enhanced, not made harder, so I'm not sure what you are referencing.

PoE already has PoE in abundance and those that want that will stay there. Diablo needs to offer other than in abundance so that it will be a strong alternative for those that don't seek what PoE provides.

I've already explained it on another thread and harping on the reasons looks like I'm looking to put the game down. The sigils I have to craft to make the nightmare dungeons harder is  needless gatekeeping and prevents me from running the dungeons whenever I want. The way POE or Undecember does it is miles better.

It sounds then that you don't like the process by which it must be done in DIV, not that you are actually prevented.

Please write "D4" or "Diablo IV" but dont mix shortcuts with roman numerals please, thats completely unreadable.
