Not going back to play, but the update looks okay to me. "End game" in MMRPGs tend to all look pretty much the same and I've lost any interest in that treadmill.
I'm most curious what roles the flail plays and how it synergizes with life staff, void gauntlet, great sword, and hatchet. So, what builds use flail and how is it used?

So the Flail acts as an off tank/healer role depending on how you play it. It's meant to give players the "cleric" fantasy missing from New World. I think it's too early to say how effective it is in PvP or PvE dungeons, but I'm having a ton of fun with it. Cleric line does quite a few AOEs that damage enemies and heal allies, the void damage is fantastic and since it scales with Focus it lets players dip into Life Staff or Void Gauntlet easier as well as have a melee option now.

60 gig download...i chose to uninstall rather than trying to keep up with this game....i'll pass
Most games are like this. They have huge patches. Even Genshin a mobile one had like 60 GB patch on Epic and is 76 GB in size in the folder. I have a 20MBps download speed but I get about 10MBps in reality. Sigh my city is notorious for its slow speeds and I still just download every patch and game even if they are about 700 gb. It is just how games are these days and will only get larger.

Yeah even FF14 is going to double in size when the new expansion lands due to the graphical update.

That is bloatware, you start to think the reason they are making these games so big is so you cant fit any other's on to your drive!
Our drives are in TB now so that is hardly the reason. Have to also remember that good graphics takes more space because of the higher resolutions. It will only go up and up.
I think the more sophisticated graphic cards get the bigger the games will be.

I was being somewhat factious and I accept the graphics argument but I note two things, many games today do not seem to be pushing graphics ever upward but those games are still getting ever bigger. Also the fact you have every larger hard drives means programming does not have to be elegant any more:
"Software developers involved in the industry during the 1970s had severe limitations on disk space and memory. Every byte and clock cycle was taken into account, and much work went into fitting the programs into available resources. Achieving this efficiency was one of the highest values of computer programmers, and the best programs were often called "elegant", a term used by mathematicians to describe a proof which is tidy, parsimonious and powerful."
So where I am serious is that if you have no reason to be "elegant", why bother?
