Originally posted by AzRaell33 They released the expack because it had been in the works for a long time and they wanted to wring more money out of the gammers. Obviously You need to open your eyes, wait a little longer when the new game comes out .. You will see You dont get to read the TOS untill you have bought the game, and installed it AND then its not refundable. So its OK for them to shut down DDO a couple months after release? They are liars and bad buisness ppl. Ask some of the people who play there games. The only reason we played is because the games were good dispite what turdbine did to them SOLD to the lowest bidder. SMART had nothing to so with it You dont have enough experiance playen a turdbine game to defend them ...shut up
They cant turn DDO servers off. They have a contract with WotC and Atari. Of course they could choose to not respect the contract with WotC and Atari, but I can tell you it would be their last action in this world as a company.
But they obviously can mess D&D rules as much as they want and they can create a precedent and a unique failure in TSR progression. D&D fanbase will be so outraged at DDO that even SoE will all suddenly feels they always have been loved and cheerish by everyone, including Mythic folks (a game born of EQ hatred). WotC will put the blame on Turbines. Atari will point at their release (ToEE which is an acceptable D&D computer product). Turbines will...take a severe beating (unless they change the game a LOT from what they already announced they where making). Turbines will prolly hide behind the extremely thin minority who will support them and says they listen to the community...I know the music.

I have played Multiple Games - DAoC, CoH, SWG, EVE, WoW, Horizons, and MANY others...
They all say they can change the game at any time - some even say they can cancel it without notice.
Now Turbine - they may be able to do this to AC2 people because of their small fan base... granted - we all agree - it was a small fan base.
I highly doubt and I am sure all will agree - that Turbine would ever do anything that could annoy a large fan base that goes along with a title like DDO - or LotRO - escpecially since most normal pen and paper D&D players are nerds - they would find a way to sue them haha
Speaking of which - if you are someone who truely feels you have been mislead by Turbine Entertainment with regard to AC2 - speak to an attorney - bring them a printout of the EULA - and the TOS - Maybe you can get your money back - especially if you can prove they had bad intentions. I do not think they did though. Most companies do not like to admit failure - especially since this one has contracts for what may be 2 of the largest MMO's to hit the market in the coming years.
Good Luck With It.
And remember - Most errors are PEBKAC Errors - Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair.
Oh where to begin: DAoC Juansanchez 50 Armsman Igraine - Back from the Grave DAoC Prol 50 Necro Igraine - Back from the Grave CoH Devient 28 Mace/Stone Tank *Retired* WoW Talgar 27 Warrior *Retired* Horizons Goledstadt 35 Dragon *Retired* And many many others in many many games. But I always go back to my home in DAoC
