Thé best mmorpg game !

Im tired.....

Tired of looking and seaching for the the best mmorpg....

When i type in best mmorpg on google then it finds me several sites that has a top 10 or top what ever.
But these sites are shit and vinegar..
I dont know who these people are that post these list but its clearly they have never even played a pc game in ther life.

They just list mmorpg games that they know the names on like wow and elder scrolls ect.

One site states wow is the best and another site states new world is the best mmorg but when you look on steam.
Then new world only has a playerbase of 20k + players..So how can that be on the best mmorpg list

The same goes for Neverwinter online..playerbase dosent rise above 30k but the site still states its the best mmorpg.

Then there are sites that shows Lost ark is the best mmorg but it also has only 30k+ players.

I remember back in the days when wow had 12 mill players and was the best mmorg of the crowns.
So how can a puny game that lives on life support be one of the best mmorpg with only 20-30k players...
This is mind blowing...PUFF !!

They even put guildwars 2 on a 6th place when it has over 350 k players.
And then they put Elder scrolls online on a 3rd place but it only has half of the player base..
Im talking active players here..not bots and old accounts where people died from covid and ect.

And they even put Black dessert on a 4 or 5 place of best mmorpg and yet it has 20k ish players only.

Also they even put Path of Exile on a 13 th place of best mmorg, when its clearly that this game is a Action RPG.
And ha snothing with mmorg to do...Its braindead !!

Its like this...Hey im gona write a Top 10 game article and post it on a site and make some cash.
So what can i come up with...hmm i heard there is a game called Rift, so i will maybe put that on a second place.
Lets see..there is also a game called Runescape i heard of. So lets give that a 10 th place.
But there is also a game called Hello kitty island. I will put that on the first place.
Now i still need to create a top 10 list, so i will just roll my dice and google some random games.

This sounds like a good plan for some easy money.
I might become ritch from this and famous !

So my point is that these sites are absolutely just as usefull as more sand in the dessert.

And if i look at the game list in here then it has not been udated since the day this site was created...who even runs this site ?
Did the admin leave sadly and depressed over all this dead mmorpg games ? I wonder...and dont blame him/her cuz i would have done the same...

So this conclude there is no best mmorpg !!!

I will go back and play minesweeper or snakes.....haiyaaaa !!!

There are so many great MMOs but most are old and been over played. IMO MOBAs killed MMOs. Not by out performing MMOs but because they were so popular developers thought we would like MMOs with MOBA combat and thats what we keep getting. It's caused burn out and failed MMOs. It's made the industry stagnant.

You do know that typing "the best ... " anything is actually going to get you people's different opinions?

I can easilllyyyyyy see someone or many "someones" thinking Elder Scrolls Online was the best mmorpg.

I remember, years ago, someone on this site positing why anyone would ever need another fantasy mmorpg because World of Warcraft was the best.

I can easilllyyyyy see someone playing a game that has less than 20k people and thinking it's the best.

You can't go looking for 'the best' and think that everyone shares your taste.

My advice is lower expectations and just play games where you can find some fun.

I'll also add that mmorpg sites are useful for news on mmorpg's. But not to tell you what "you" would think the best is.

edit: dragons dogma II comes out in March! Something to look forward to.

Clearly the younger audience likes the MOBAs and battle royales more than the MMORPGs.....Maybe its a generational thing, who knows.

Usually old school lower population MMORPGs are pretty much the best gaming experience you can get such as Project Gorgon but most people won't play them due to long travel time, buggy and clunky mechanics. Something like Vanilla WoW you had server pride and people could play because of that. But someone else might thing somethings great for a different reason so there is literally 100 different answers and they'd all be correct.

One of the problems with the mmorpgs on the market is that mmorpg players have generally ran through all the content years ago. You can only play so much so often before it is just stale.
mmorpg players seem to want new games not new just content in games they have already played for years and years and years.

Best has so many criteria and each person prioritises something different so best isn't something you can pull out of a hat.

Is New World only accessible through Steam?  If not, then the Steam stats aren't gonna do you much good.

Grand Theft Auto V only have 168k and that is the 6th largest game on steam charts.  Maybe you are expecting too much.

This mmorpg is the best and that mmoprg is the second best and what not.

They dident even do reseach like i did.

I actualy think i will become a article writer cuz i will do a way better job that these numbskulls that cleary know shit for brains !

So where do i sign up for a mmprg article writer.
Im gona write the best and most honest article about mmorpg games.

New world and lost ark are both steam only so those numbers are the actual player base. Now take bots out and it's even less since both games have a ton of bots.

I really wanted to enjoy New World but it just didn't float my boat.  It looks great, but less than an hour after playing it I just felt like I'd played everything it had to offer.  If I played any more it would just be like Groundhog Day, with the same content over and over again.  :D

I have my hopes pinned on Nightingale and Light no Fire, rash though that probably is.

Has anyone ever taken many articles on this site seriously since the previous owners? I think older members care more about the forums instead of the actual articles that get posted, which is nothing wrong with that. Heck, many people only stay subbed to wow/ffxiv simply just to post on those forums.

Not quite sure why we keep seeing posts about "best" when that's simply a matter of opinion.

Hell, the games I loved in the past, in many cases, are games I wouldn't put near as much time in, or enjoy if I played today. Gaming has changed, I've changed, so my expectations aren't the same as they once were.

If I judged best based on hours played, then the games that took time, may have taken that time because I had more free time to give when I was playing the title.

Best game for me today, is the game that I enjoy playing....and that's absolutely not going to be the same for anyone else.

I know alot of the MMORPGs I have played over the years the majority of the players wanted to be powerleveled to max level....Really they didnt even want to play except for end game....That may be why games like Fortnite took off....There was no leveling or character building...Those elements made the game fun for me, but not for alot of other folks.

Being the best is a relative concept - one just is better than the others in some way. That doesn't mean any of them are really good in the first place.

In my humble opinion the list of MMOs referred by this thread looks more like an all star roster in kindergarten cup than the one in World Series.

I agree with this. I put in a good decade into old FF11 (before the original maintenance mode began) and I know that its not anywhere close to being the 'best' mmorpg. I mean, a lot of people dont even know its a mmorpg. Even the parts of the game that I 'loved' (or at least kept me playing, namely the endgame) people either hated for various reasons or never made it to. Which brings me to another point in that many of the elements people claim to 'hate' are kind of what made certain games work, like high rng/constant grinding/random spawn timers/etc because the games were probably shallow otherwise. But look at today and how much 'convenience' there is see how well player retention is compared to the past. Sure, they were gimmicks in themselves but they were also gimmicks people had the choice in engaging in without feeling like it was mandatory if you skipped a day/week from them.

I think the reality is no one knows.  And companies don't publish player numbers because if it is low or if it is downward trending(which almost every game is), it'll give them bad press.

Another thing is monthly login is usually 10 times more than concurrent numbers.  So 20k concurrent could mean roughly 200k montly login.

My son just got a good gaming rig so I started looking for an MMORPG we could play together. That, of course, fed the algorithms and I start looking at "best mmorpgs 2023" videos.

Utterly unimpressed. They really do all seem to be clones of one another with no new ideas.

I suspect my expectations are too high (immersive world, wide variety of character builds/skills, less obsession with sparkly combat effects, more fluff/flavor for fun, a NOT-player built economy (solely)....

Or maybe I'm just too old. :s

Final Fantasy XIV might be your best bet.

The "best" MMORPG is the one you personally enjoy or have enjoyed in the past.

OP seems heavily focused on popularity or number of users, which IMO isnt always a good indicator of whether I would agree which MMO is the best.

Example, EVE is the best MMORPG IMO, but then again, I haven't seriously played it for 7 years now.

I keep seeing ff14 or 15 or 16½ or ffxxIxxvI
Or what ever its called haha

This game is being the best or most played with over 1 mill player logins each day.
But it states that 50m people plays it..but minus inactive accounts and bots then we are on 1-2 mill real players...lol

I tryed the game 3 times last year and i got to lvl 10 or so, but i was so bored that i could not stay aawake to play it. This game made me pass out on my keyboard. So i dont get it.

I realy want to like this game since it might be a good raid/dungeon game and it looks good on the vidjas that has high level heroes but mann...zzzzzzz..mmmmh  bears....zzzz

Just thinking on FF makes me tired. Also it was like this safty bumper on. So i could not jump over a cliff or drown my self in a sea It was like playing bowling for kids with these safty rails on that makes sure the ball dosent hit the gutter.

Also th egfx looks so dull and dead..like ancient..if it was 1990 it would blow my mind ! but 2024..comeon mann !!!

How do you stay awake in Final fantasy ?
Do you use some kind of shocker gadget ?
