Earlier this week Capcom released an update roadmap for Dragon's Dogma 2, outlining plans to address a number of key pain points, though performance improvements are curiously absent.

Seems like a pretty obvious miss to not be able to start the game over. I guess the thought was that since you can change vocations, there's no need to start over. However, a lot of single player RPG fans like to experience the story over from the beginning regardless of there being no functional reason to restart. It's like re-reading a good book. You don't want to just open to the last page and read "and they lived happily ever after".

I think it’s that’s exactly what they did. They figured there is already a new game plus as well as a way to experience all the vocations and a barber in game for face/body changes so why have a way to restart?

I wonder if they had internal testers play test the game as opposed to players who might note things differently?

I'm sure they'll charge you $2 to unlock that ability, if they add it.

Ahh...I pull out a cigar and sit back wondering what I will play after lunch. It's that relaxing feeling you get when you know that by the time you play DD2 all this stuff will be sorted out.

As long as one can come to terms with the issues they will find an amazing game.

I set aside two hours last night and barely made any progress as I was exploring, swapping out pawns and checking each one out, figuring out their odd interface, etc.

liked that one pawn said “follow me, I know the person you seek” and proceeded to lead me to them.

I’ll probably be playing this game for years.

If they had just bundled all the microtransactions as a "Digital Deluxe Upgrade" (which is all it ever was), they could have avoided a lot of the backlash.

I'm glad they are taking community concerns seriously, though.
