There have been many significant changes in ESO to date. To claim otherwise is absurd.

They have expressed no interest in changing how combat works overall. Various aspects have been tweaked over the years but expecting major change is a false hope. I also very much doubt there will be an animation overhaul either.

They may do something with gear but it likely won't be through an itemization overhaul. Perhaps some additional gear slots that have different but complimentary features to existing equipment could be used to change things up. Still, if any were to happen out of these three, an itemization overhaul would be most likely.

Zenimax does what to change combat but the players won't let them.

They tried making Light attacks recover resources and Heavy attacks do extra damage. They even tested it on the beta server but the revolt on the forums was epic.

When an MMO gets old the thing that holds it back the most is the players, and that's why MMO developers should never listen to those idiots.
