Last Epoch has been playable in early access for over 5 years. I don't think it's a flash in the pan that's going away any time soon. No, it won't ever have the following D4 or PoE have, but it's going to always be around for that segment of ARPG fans for which it lands in that sweet spot of complexity vs accessibility.

Depending on EHG does with adding content and features with future Cycles, I could see Last Epoch getting enough traction to surpass D4. And although PoE 2 looks like it'll be an awesome upgrade to PoE, any wrong steps by GGG could hurt the franchise, leading to even more steam being added to LE.

The best thing they could do with this game is give the ability for people to skip the story after they have completed it the first time round. I know I have been playing the game since it started and I am burned out on running through the story at this point. With the launch of the offline mode I am pretty much happy with most everything else at this point.

As much as I am a fan of story in games, you should not have to keep repeating the same story. Even a great story is going to seem trivialized and tedious with too many repetitions. I also think we can't tell what ARPG among those mentioned will be top dog in a couple of years time, gaming history shows that a risky punt for anyone.

    POE doesn't have Campaign Skipping.

Most of the ARPG type games don't have this feature, which D3 and D4 IMO does it well.

You can't skip the story in Grim Dawn or Titan Quest. I'm pretty sure the story skipping thing is actually limited to the Diablo games unless someone can name another ARPG that allows it.

That's not to say it's not a good idea to add. I have a full page of offline characters, a full page of online legacy characters, and the couple of seasonal characters I started since 1.0 and every single one of them has done the campaign start to finish. I think I've put in my dues... haha.
