Is life in South Korea really this bad? To spend your entire life in a fantasy land.

To somepeople it is a nice place, but it is over crowded with people living in very small places, so there only real escape for them is through the computer.

There they can be as free as they want to be, there is grass, a clear sky, and running water, so for some the fantasy world is just to temping to warrent them leaving.

I have seen this with books too, people will read a book for hours on end becuase they really can't put it down, but with a book there is a last page and it finishs and they move on. MMORPGs don't have that, so there is no real closure or stopping point.

Perhaps having the Servers go down for maintainence is not so bad after all.
  • Sparks243Sparks243 Member Posts: 271

Never really thought of that, a 1-2 hour maintainence everyday during low traffic times really would force a player to take a break from a hardcore gaming marathon, and it's keeps the servers running smoothly to boot.

    Great idea Lord_Troll ::::28::

another thing they can do is have a bunch of long quests that takes a while, but not more than a day to complete. then whenever you complete a quest, you cannot start another one until 24 hours pass. It would be kinda like those "tick based" games where you only need to log in a play a few hours or even just a few minutes to progress. And extra time spent on the game per day will probably be for chatting and stuff like that.

It remembers me a joke about blondie with earphones... when she had haircut, the stylist took these

earphones off and a blondie died instantly...

He was shocked but listened to the earphones and heard..

    - inhale... exhale... inhale...

Perhaps it should be similar reminder in MMOs - eat, pee, drink....

So I just wanna be clear. This is a different guy from the one a couple of weeks ago right? I mean the first one lived with his mother or something and this guy lives with his sister right?

  • Sparks243Sparks243 Member Posts: 271

Yes, the man from a few weeks ago was unnamed, and so was the game he was playing. This man was named Lee and was playing World of Warcraft.

Also there was a baby that also died due to the parents speading too much time away for her at a Cafe.

Actually i'm pretty sure they said he was playing StarCraft. Chalk another one up to Blizzard.

Was really just clearing that up for the guy who said they were one and the same earlier in the post.

well I guess I was alittle unsure, always a chance the media could've mixed up the games, thanks for clearning it up.
