Gray Zone Warfare Sells Over 400k Copies in 48 Hours and Resolved Crashing Issues | MMORPG.com
Gray Zone Warfare developers, MADFINGER Games, a.s., have shared that they have reached over 400,000 sales within just 48 hours of their early access launch.
Before you picked faction and moved on, the game let you know that you would be faction locked until there was a server wipe. They pretty clearly let everyone know exactly what would happen. The funny part, is that so many idiots clicked passed it, or didn't pay attention, and had to go screaming that they couldn't play with friends, so I hope it's simply a one time chance to swap. But again, can't build something that "stupid" can't undo.
And because it's faction locked with 16 players per faction, it can be a real issue for Gray Zone. Early on one of the factions was very undermanned, and it's tough being a person who has potentially 5-6 teammates and wanting to explore the "better" areas of the game, and having to compete with people who can have a pool of 16 to explore the same area.
For MOST servers, I suspect it wasn't an issue (and it made it far easier for the underrepresented faction to pass the queues.) This of it like a 3-Faction MMO, where one faction doesn't have the players...even though it's FPS, in this case, it can more closely resemble the MMO .

Most definitely it has to be a one time transfer, we have seen before in many games how this causes huge issues if players are allowed to keep bouncing around from one faction to the next. I am told in FF XIV it does not cause as many issues as it usually does but I would have to see that to believe it.
