Alpha 2 on the horizon. Time will tell. tbh, and not judging game play at all yet. But the carvan system was very appealing. Something new, and honest to a large world.

I played Alpha 1. The game was a mess but the instanced pvp war/siege was great. I will check out Alpha 2 when it starts. So much has changed since Alpha 1.

After all the hype surrounding so many games and they ended up being a huge disappointment(New World, Starfield, Diablo 4 etc), I am keeping my expectations in check with AOC.

I will say "true stealth" is very difficult to balance. WoW ended up balancing it to the point the classes that had it couldn't really do the role they were designed to do namely take down high priority back row targets like healers and ranged DPS. At launch a rogue was to be feared in any PVP situation, but after a few expansions they just became an annoyance who could be CC'D, escaped, or their dps healed through.

DAoC had a similar experience where they nerfed the opening attack so that if you duoed up with another stealth class the second opener would do a fraction of its normal damage.

Won't surprise me if stealth classes in this game go through the same life cycle. Feared at launch but "balanced" into irrelevance after a few patches.

It really isn't, as long as the intangible aspects are taken into account.

What I mean is too many times balance is based upon two players going toe to toe in an open arena, which is a bad way to balance.  The better balance is based on actual game play and how the stealth is used.

I played a warg for a couple of years in LOTRO so I've done quite a bit of stealthing.  If I tried to go toe to toe with about any opposition class I'd lose very handily.  However, you can bet I'd be the SOB cleaning up the terribly wounded trying to slink away from the battle.  

The ability to pick and choose a fight is brutal if used well.
As long as you're not afraid to be a total bastard, it's a great skill.

Sure.  If you don't appreciate the fact that the people asking the questions are handpicked by the person they are asking, as well as likely having monetary benefit through the referral system, well, thats on you.

It's a real A2 so 2 years maybe longer won't be outside the norm. Can't wait to play A2. Wife and I upgraded our PCs.

Meh don't mistake uninterested lethargy of any and all kickstarted MMO projects as hate. Given the piss poor track record of these types of crowdfunded games, many people have lost all faith a working MMO can be created this way.
