You can tell the writers went on strike.

Yeah I don't feel like I know any more about what is going on after watching the trailer than I did before. Very vague. Some void elf chick wants my fury. Grrr? Am I supposed to be scared now or something? Anyway the Dragonflight trailer was just as nonsensical, so I don't think this was a result of the strike, just lack of good writing. ChatGPT could do better.

I have completely lost touch with the lore. It's just gone on for too long and ceased making sense any more.

I had no idea who this character is.  And so it's a horrible trailer in terms of creating any excitement for someone not already playing

I disagree that the Dragonflight Trailer was just as nonsensical as what I remembered was the giant protectors on an island of dragons were being woken up due to a threat.  While that isn't particularly informative either, it was certainly far more informative than this new trailer.

After looking it up she appears to be a harbinger or emissary of the Void,  Or something along those lines.  I do know that the Void is the big threat after the Legion.

I haven't played retail since Legion and a tiny free sample of BFA.

If you made it this far you are several years up on me. :)

WOW and ESO lore now for me are simple:

Some bad entity wants to do bad things to some new area of the map. We need to stop the bad entity. The end. :)

Well first of all I didn't say I wouldn't play. I was just commenting on this trailer which isn't very good as a trailer. Maybe as a teaser. Second of all the last time I played WoW was the first month of Shadowlands, so my last login was back in December 2020 maybe Jan 2021. The suggestion that in spite of my criticism I'm going to be playing anyway is definitely not based on my play history.

I may actually play this one depending on how delves go. If they're worthless like Torgast ended up being the yeah I'll continue piling on the years since I last logged on. Definitely not a WoW junkie. I for sure was back in Vanilla days but life has changed quite a bit for me since then. Wife, kids, career and all that.

What writers?  At most they just abuse some cheap interns on rotation that write something.

WoW's Lore and overall writing fell off a cliff many years ago.

Don't posters remember when Blizzard did that video about a new dlc and they went through the entire conception and finished with "then we send it to the writers". After uproar they said "we liaise with the writing team right though the process". As some players pointed out "what writing team, name them". But my favorite quote about the "writing team" is "can we send them to college"? :)

Don't exactly know whats going on here.  Read most of it, but still, most relevant characters nowadays are almost ad libbed in.  I've long hated the "They gonna betray you" trope of WoW, but really I need more context to care about these... no-names?"

Yes, a new bad person that wants to do bad things badly to a heretofor undiscovered area is 100% completely unique to WoW and ESO only.

Yep, no other MMO in the history of MMOs has ever used this trope before.
