I haven't played New World since release, and I never got to max level in the first place. I found the lack of content around level 30 to be enough of a deal breaker that I would rather not play and play something else instead. So, when I heard about New World being turned into an ARPG, I was interested because I love ARPG's. Well, here we are. Now we all know it isn't really an ARPG; they're just rebranding the same game to reach a console audience.

You can't lose something you didn't have to begin with. Since I wasn't playing the game in the first place, it's no skin off my back that I won't be playing it this time. I just hate the dishonesty.

The "controversy" over the description change is silly. They are just changing it for marketing purposes to one that console players might be more familiar with.

I feel this game would be doing well if they had continued to add meaty content to it on a regular basis like most other live service games do. Their first big content update Brimstone Sands was well received, but their only expansion was not.

It's not silly, NW plays nothing like any ARPG I've ever played before, it's a total misnomer to call it one now.

One can't be OK with game companies out right lying in the name of marketing, wrong is just wrong.

It is not an ARPG as that term is typically used. As it currently is it is better described as a MMORPG with action based combat. The new version sounds as though the main story will focus more on being an action game suited to solo play with the remainder not much clarified as of yet.

As I said this is just an excuse for more solo casual, wrapped up in "ARPG focus" and the like.
