Yeah item/currency duping in any online game that maintains a transaction log is risky at best. You're banking on the developers being merciful when they find out because it's not a question of if but when. The forensic evidence is there in perpetuity. You can't launder the money either like you can in real life with various financial shell games because the money never leaves the game so the data is all there no matter how many alts or trial accounts you want to try and trade it to. Enjoy your bans, cheaters!

Suspending an account sounds temporary rather than a Perma ban.

isn't that what the testing phase is for?

if the game was released i could see this being bannable but during testing?

Yea, I don't get it, why would they ban people for testing a game that goes through wipes every major patch anyway?

If you're the kind of tester that doesn't report duplication bugs, you should be banned.

This is more about over the top abuse of the exploit.

Exploits happen, people might get some gain, then there are those people who will farm it until it's over then it gets to extreme points it can actually negatively impact everyone else. Discoragement acts on a constant basis are a must or it just becomes common practice.

It's about how even released MMOs deal with exploits, people who used it before a fix tend to get away with it, people who farm it get the ban.

Dunno why they'd dupe if they've already bought the win.

Duping, cheating, hacking is for the weaklings, those who can't play, who merely adopted the grind. I was born in it, molded by it. B)

TBH glad CIG finally acted on that as it sends a clear message, despite being in Alpha and wipes are and will be a thing for a while more and more people were selling credits online that would eventually all be erased.
