This sounds like the stupidest marketing idea ever. What's wrong with just saying they have developed a single player offline RPG with bots?

An "MMORPG" that is not massively multiplayer. Not multiplayer AT ALL. And is not even playable ONLINE... is just dumb.

And yes, this is a hill I will die on if needed.

“Erenshor is a fully functioning MMORPG, except the other players aren't humans, and the 'O' stands for 'Offline',” the Steam page reads, touting “SimPlayer” bots with similar behaviors to real MMORPG players, including a marketplace."

I am going with - Mini Mono-player Offline RPG.

It is a solo casuals dream, why bother with real people at all?

    Here's my new raid group: Me, Bot 1, Bot 2, Bot 3 and...Bot 4! :)

Just add NFT's and I am in! I'll form a group, offline of course, made of bots and let them go do all the work. I'll just log in every few days to gather the NFT stuff they made.

Then I'll sell it on their marketplace to some other bots. I'll be rich!

In fact, I won't even have to log in at all, just put another bot in charge. I'll just check my balance every now and then. No need to actually play. Brilliant!

Actually I had a blast on WoW Nytermoon with my bot group and I wasn't abused as a priest which was often my experience in pugs in WoW.

The catch is that it feels and plays like an MMORPG.

It’s essentially an mmorpg simulator. An interesting experiment to be sure.

I've tried it. i was actually shocked how well it worked despite how early it was. I tried it like 4-5 months ago or so. I'm sure it's improved since then. But yes you'll see the other "players" talking back and forth is /ooc and /shout. You can group up with other bot NPCs. It does have the feel of an old school mmo, and if you din't know what the deal with the game was, you might not notice right away that there aren't other players because you see plenty running around. At least until you're there for awhile and see things repeated whether in chat or movements of their bots. But I have to give the guy making this a pat on the back, for what he's trying to do he's doing it far better than I would have expected it could be done.

Hey I'm the guy making Erenshor. Lately I've been moving away from the "Single Player MMORPG" line and am leaning into the "Simulated MMORPG" tag to alleviate any confusion.

Also, I'm glad some of you like it! I'll check back for any questions if you all have any. :)

That would be a much better idea.  An MMO simulator sounds cool.  A single player off line MMO sounds... bad.

    But good luck

    It sounds interesting to me.

It's also curious that it isn't the "thing" that bothers some posters, but rather how it's described, despite the "thing" remaining the same. I kind of like the irony in the play on words that "single player mmorpg" portrays. With all the bickering over grouping vs soloing and appealing to single player gamers, I find it funny.

That was the goal of the tagline, it really fired up conversations for a while. All in all though, it does tend to become more negative than positive so I use it a lot less than I used to.
