That's... not surprising news, but still a bit sad, i remember being excited for this years ago because it's a mostly 'hand-drawn' game- i think people just had no clue how rough the ride was going to be.

I, for one, was originally a bit curious about the game, but when the $1000 mischarge story broke I quickly switched to the "oh hell no" camp and didn't look back. I'm sure I wasn't alone.

Gosh, it almost seems like an MMORPG is way too big and complex a project for a tiny new indie studio to tackle. Surely that can't be the case, or all these tiny indie companies wouldn't keep trying to do the impossible, right?

This game would have been a MASSIVE hit as a single-player RPG. Maybe some coop/summons stuff down the line. Amazing art and some cool ideas around narrative.

Yeah that was certainly my red flag.

Exact same reaction I had. Saw it initially, loved how different it looked and caught my attention. It launched and I'm seeing catastrophic overcharging and duplicated charges on people's accounts and I deleted the game from my memory altogether.

Sometimes bad things happen. But the company refesed to help anyone who had payment issues, and just blindly kept marketing the game, on top of the blantant P2W.

The concept and art was cool, but the greedy rat company destroyed any trust in this game.

Jandisoft is greedy and killed their own game. There was a lot of interest but their avaricious, grasping and buggy game could never survive their own missteps. Lesson learned, no another developer will try it thinking they are made of teflon.

The "2D" graphics had me write it off, but as time went on I did think, actually the art is interesting, its not just the "usual arty suspects" saying that. That's rare for me. So a real shame, maybe a solo game could be made out of it?

It's been done to modest success albeit infrequently, so while not impossible the odds aren't good and the rewards aren't great.

Still, for a few, it's been enough to keep them at it.

Even Xsolla was responsible for the multiple charges on the CC and other mistakes the monetization was very greedy. Ultimately this is what developers need to realise. If you intend to monetize your game this way and you don't attract enough players the pool of players you can pry money out of is small. In that situation you need to ease back on the monetisation or risk too many players who haven't played very long and can leave easily.

Plus the game was very buggy and that didn't help. Good study on what greed and incompetence can accomplish.
