If you call not being able to create a character on your guilds server weathering, then maybe the title would be right.

It is almost like somebody wants to play a proper MMORPG or something? :)

Shortly after launch SE said FF14 ARR "broke through the 600,000 mark set by FF11"

So, Dawntrail would be around there. But, it's not hard to get record concurrent players in an expansion launch week as people are putting in longer hours than normal.

Yes, actually? That only shows poor planning on your part. Disallowing new character creation on crowded worlds is exactly the sort of decision that made the launch so smooth for the vast majority of players.

If you wanted to have a new character on your guild's server, you should have made it ahead of time.

It actually shows one less unit sold.  Because, I don't buy things that don't work.

I doubt anyone will miss a player who doesn't understand how MMO launches work.

This isn't how MMO launches work, this is just an FF14 thing.

Oh, so other MMOs don't have massive congestion when they launch a new expansion? Or are you saying these other mythical games just don't take steps to deal with it?

Either way, everyone had plenty of warning that there would be restrictions on character creation, so I don't see how it's reasonable to blame Square-Enix for this guy's failure to plan ahead.
