I was really hoping for Pantheon to be my pure PvE game.
I never backed it.  Well actually I did during the failed Kickstarter but since that didn't fund I never pledged.  But I always held out hope that this would fill that gap.

Looks pretty grim now and seems obvious that this is a Hail Mary.  but one in a blue moon those do connect.

I didn't back it during the kickstarter as they never showed anything. Only after they started showing game play did I pledge some money.

I like the idea of the game but hate the new art design ... what to do what to do ...

Yeah, I backed it too before the whole graphical direction shift and then it kinda fell off my radar. This move just feels like they are trying to get blood from a stone before sunsetting. But I really do hope I'm wrong

All pledges will be free to play during Early Access – no sub costs, no additional fees, and pledges will get a head start before Early Access launches.

This game is the next Crowfall. Launching early because their 10 year development cycle went no where, and they have so much debt they need to recoup, and then will close the game a few months later to "go back into development".

I think Crowfall's problem was more that their development cycle made a (somewhat) finished game that just was boring. Whereas Pantheon seems like they're releasing so incomplete that it won't matter.

As someone who has actually played the game as a VIP for some time now, this is great news. I read all the comments, a few typical cynical comments (ignored)and some justified critique ultimately from people who probably haven't had a chance to play. Burned by years of waiting and arguably failed changes. Aside from the ones who's personality is to be negative about all things, to the ones the genuinely gave this game a shot at one time but fell disenchanted, I think we will be seeing you soon. IMHO it's coming together nicely and feels great already.

Since the investments seem to have dried up, when it doesn't perform (aka earn) as much as needed in early access who knows maybe there will be a company / investment fund willing to buy Visionary Realms for pennies on the dollar.

The Web3 businesses seem pretty keen to snatch up failing studios.

It would be some kind of crazy circle if Daybreak investment fund snatched up Visionary Realms with Brad McQuaid's last game (however much it has changed since his passing).
