Why would anyone not? A variety of reasons I'm sure just as there would be in response to your question. Personally I didn't enjoy Destiny 2 as much as I do The Final Descendent. That said if I could find a single player game similar to the latter I would likely play that instead. I'd rather play at a more casual pace than the game allows and other players seem to favour.
I can't play first person games, and there are many people like me who simply cannot play first person games, for various reasons.

Can't speak for Neoyoshi but I do know some people get nauseous playing in first person.
Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
Is Minecraft first Person? That game makes me so motion sick, I’m sad about it though because I like the game.
