Yes. But I can't say I'd recommend it. Any combination is permitted. Considerably fewer are actually worthwhile. Your allowed equipment is determined solely by your main job, so if you were envisioning a white mage that gets to wear samurai armor and swing a katana...no, ain't happenin'. Also, mages in general, but particularly white mages, are always in need of having more mana points. As a result, mages almost always take another mage job as subjob, since that increases their mana points. A samurai subjob would provide no mana points to a white mage main job.
Note that you can persue separate jobs, and can certainly be both a white mage and a samurai...just, both at the same time is not likely to work so well.

You mean the Brady Guide? Aheh. The Brady guide has some nice info, noticeably the mob lists and the crafting recipes, but much of their advice is, well, less than optimal. And even so, it's talking about SAM/WHM, not WHM/SAM. (which is not to say that SAM/WHM is good either--as a subjob, the WHM will have enough mana points for only a few cures).

Um, well, I dunno. Honestly, at lower levels people can be desperate enough for a white mage that they'll put up with nearly anything. At higher levels, probably no, you won't get parties.
