Heroic Games has a  new development update for Ship of Heroes, this time focusing on Auras. Auras are part of the superhero character creator that have grown and changed as they've gotten deeper into development.

Champions Online has a choice between one overall aura slot or five individual slots representing different parts of the body that can each have a different aura slotted in so they can be mixed and matched to provide a wide range of looks

It sounds okay in SoH, but not remarkable.

Not in Ship of Heroes as no power set would be suitable. It could easily be done in Champions Online through the Infernal Supernatural power set, especially so if you have access to Freeform to allow for more flexible character creation.

The 'Condemn' power from that set is close to tailor made for presenting his displayed ability, being a toxic parabolic attack one can maintain. You can even optionally make it paralyze and stun targets, and also inflict them with debilitating poison.
