Hero talents were the laziest way to add to the current tree. The skill trees was already too large and beyond blizzards capability to manage. So, the made a math box that adds few abilities. Hero systems in other games are awesome. The hero talents are underwhelming and lackluster at best.

I disagree entirely. I think they fact that the hero talents are inspired by major characters from the WOW universe is really awesome.

lol I cant imagine restarting WoW today...I left in 2006 and I would be totally lost.

Eh just start from level 1 and don't use any boosters. The game will walk you through everything you need to know. The leveling is fast enough that you'll still be max level in a couple of weeks even playing casually. Really the whole game prior to the last 10 levels is a tutorial. It's not like you're playing EVE where they just dump you in your starter ship and say good luck.
