It's undeniably pretty (though some reports say the PC version needs more performance tuning).
However, I've seen a friend play the PS5 version, and I can honestly say the FF7 reboot was a lot more compelling to me in terms of gameplay. The friend who was playing (and is generally the biggest FF fan I know) admitted that he found himself getting bored at many points during his playthrough.
So, in my opinion, 15 was a terrible game that I regret purchasing, and 16 is not a game I even care to try. Even 14 is starting to wear out its welcome. I'm ready to admit that, for me, the FF magic is gone.
FF16 is great. Not consistent, but great. It fluctuates between a 7 and a really strong 10 throughout the story. Those 10 moments are pretty frequent and make the game a must play.
