CoH and CoV, thinking of starting

SojenSojen Member Posts: 76

Hi all. I'm thinking of starting City of Heroes and/or City of Villains.

From what I've heard, CoV is a stand alone game, and not an expansion for CoH.

What I would like to know is, Since its not an expansion, if I wanted to play both CoH and CoV, I have to buy both retail games.

But do I have to pay the monthly fee for 1 game or 2 games??

If have to pay CoH and CoV separately, I might consider waiting for CoV to come out then start with CoV.

Thanks for any info. ::::01::

    COV and COH are stand alone games, you would have to purchase each of them, as for the monthly cost NCSOFT hasn't yet said what it will be for both games, most rumors have it at about 20 dollars for both, but they are just rumors.  There will be some content that you will need both games for like PvP areas that the Heroes go against the Villians, but they won't be there at launch of COV and will be added later.  Also it is rumored that you will need COV to build bases in COH, I'm not sure on that one.  Hope this helps.

    Yes you would need to buy both. CoH can be found at very decent prices on the web.

    If you have CoH and CoV it will be 1 cost. The cost will be more than Just CoH but not as much as 2 full MMO's. So the Price might be say $5 or $10 more a month, than it is now with just CoH.

    Ok, thank you guys for the info provided. I guess I will wait a while for comfirmation on the monthly fee pricing style. Budget is a bit tight, being a college student and all...
