Seriously, though, who is going to buy this? It looks like crap visually but even worse than that it just looks boring asf. If it didn't the Lord of the Rings IP attached to it, does it even get made?

This game is made for the “cozy” game players who like at minimum the hobbit.

This could sell very well.

And it looks fantastic for the type of game it is.

Agree to disagree I guess.  Talk to me in a few weeks and we'll see how well it did.  My guess is that it won't meet the expectations of those who put up the money for it.

It releases in 2025. In March. I think it's fair to say they have more work to do. Let's convene then.

If the game is good, then there's plenty of audience for all kinds of games.

Whereas if the game is bad, then it doesn't really matter what kind of idea they have. There are enough good games that people won't play a bad game.

I dunno.  I was really thinking Palia was going to be a huge hit but it was a big dud.  I’m very skeptical there’s a market for a Hobbiton life sim.

To clarify,

When I say it will sell well, I mean it will sell a good amount to be considered a moderate success. Not a runaway hit or a top 10 game or anything like that.

When I see a game like this I think of all the hobbit role players in Lord of the Rings Online, or players who identify with that "cozy" warm and comfortable hobbit life.

Whether or not it's considered a good game for those who would like this type of game remains to be seen. Especially with that starting long fetch quest. Reminds me of the first quest I got in Spellborn? Spell something. Crap It had islands and you'd sail to those islands in an airship. I think Blue Turtle worked on it. In any case you had to go to various towers and collect reports. I think it was a way to get the player out into the world but I ended up uninstalling.

Also, the art direction in this game seems reminiscent of Fable.
