There was a bit of brainstorming during the video where briefly tossing about ideas is actually the point but there was also a lot of well presented substantive information. It's the best developer video I've seen them do and watching it gave me more excitement and hope for that upcoming than I had prior. The video got a good number of compliments in the comment section, so I wasn't the only one impressed. Hopefully they'll stick with that approach for their videos going forward.

What? M1 and M2 are still pretty easy for even the most casual of players if you take the time to understand the mechanics. M3 is a different story, as you need a solid group for those.

Didn't like when Diablo switched to seasonal content only probably won't be a fan of it here but the PvP rule set has some interesting differences.

It was rumored the next weapon was dual pistols, which sounded neat, but it's looking like they won't be added for another 10 to 12 months.

The seasonal content is entirely optional, but the first one will be heavily PvP focused so well-suited to those that favour that aspect. Pistols would be interesting, with hopefully options for main hand and off-hand in combination with other one-handed weapons as well as dual pistols. A lot of interesting possibilities there.

When Blizzard announced Seasons for Diablo 3 they were described as "optional"

What I think this comes down to is Seasons are content, though nearly always not a lot of content. If you optionally do not play that, what are you going to play? Anything which takes up development time and resources detracts from anything else that could or is being developed. So it is not totally "optional".

You can focus entirely on improving non-seasonal characters in D3 and D4. So, seasons are optional.

Seasons are optional in Diablo 3.

Yes, they are. DIII does not require the characters you play to be seasonal. It is option. DIV doesn't require it either. You can exclusively play eternal characters. I do so when the current season doesn't interest me or when I have completed all of it that I intend to.
