Lore Based > Real World > Crossover.

The only events I have a problem with are crossovers from other games. Dr Who in Eve springs to mind, FF had a tomb and sword I think it was in AC Origins and so on.

I absolutely hate christmas and halloween events in my mmos. It breaks immersion and I'm getting these consumer goods hollidays showed down my throat at every turn in my real life, and now I have to have it in my games too. I stopped playing TnL bacause of the semi-mandatory halloween dungeon runs.

No. A game, MMO especially, should have its own lore driven events. I prefer for gaming to be inspired by reality(etc), but not to actually contain anything from it.

It's almost as if I like Warhammer Fantasy! Who knew!

I don't mind Halloween and Christmas stuff, but it has to be non-mandatory, it should have its own progression that does not effect anything outside of outfits and housing.

NW:A is a fantasy version of the historical New World so it makes sense that their events would be related to real world ones... though the could stand to have a bit less silly elements. For settings entirely unrelated to our world it would be better if they had their own traditions.
