I haven't gotten my hands on PoE2 yet, but I do have many hundreds of hours in LE. LE is a solid game but the end game is just boring. I've been playing LE since early alpha and I've yet to get a character to max level. It truly takes some brute force grind to hit 100 in that game. Yes, ALL ARPGs end up in an endgame grind but some are just more fun than others. I think the issue with LE is itemization. That is there's not enough variety. Pretty early on well before you get anywhere close to max level you will have the gear for your build to work. From that point forward it's just about grinding to get +1 versions of the same gear. There's not going to be some amazing drop that comes along and dramatically increases your power level and gives you that satisfaction and excitement of an amazing drop. The vast majority of it is hemming and hawing between an item that just dropped and one you already have because one stat is better and another is worse and you're trying to figure out if the tradeoff is worth it. It's just not that interesting.
They ruined the game by listening to poe's 1%
I used to play daily making at least 1 build per day 8-10 hours, now it takes around 2 days just go get to endgame and if you are unlucky on drops it's just 1shoot after 1shoot (have not played in months 1.5k hours total)
Same thing with torchlightinfinite season 6, they nerfed drops to the ground, made the game 10X harder and no one plays...
The only thing that should be frustrating and time consuming in a arpg is the theory crafting part of the game and making the build work.
EVERYTHING ELSE SHOULD BE CHILL AND FUN.

Fangs of Asterkar will be breathing some new life into Grim Dawn next year, so that will hopefully go well.
