Too long have we heard the cries that ZeniMax Online's Elder Scrolls Online was slipping into maintenance mode, the studio ready to fully move onto its unnamed MMO project. Yet, while yesterday's announcement it was leaving Chapters behind might seem like maintenance mode, the actual work outlined in 2025 shows its anything but.

I liked the game back in the days so I hope they do well and make it to 20 years anniversary.
I'd like to see something other than that. We'll see if this is it. My hopes aren't high.
I feel the game needs a restart with new characters, zones, storylines..... essentially a brand new mmo.
This was my thought too. I'm guessing that ESO expects to get more money from this model, more money is their non-stop goal.
What if I don't want to pay more money? let's say they add a new story arc in an existing zone. I don't get access to it, probably; can I group with people who are running that new arc? If they make overland mobs harder for a season, do I see that?

2024: 47 years on the Net.
Season passes and cash shop items I suppose, which is a sparse meal compared to what most MMORPGs will serve.
