    Yeah I can only imagine the spaghetti state the code is in currently with how many hands have been in the code base times the number of years this project has been in development. Tech debt indeed.

    I'm a backer from a long time ago. Using the Jump Drive and jumping between systems for the 1st time was a pivotal event for me. The Pyro gate station -on the other side - is under UEE protection. And other than the red color of space, that station is no different from being in the Stanton System. But once you proceed into the Pyro system, I'll put it this way, if you thought Grim Hex was rough looking, Pyro's stations are even a further step down in their creature comforts. HA.

    Dive in deep enough and you'll find the original 100 lines of BASIC code that formed the first demo :)

    Jumping through a gate for the first time was a magical experience that I haven't felt since I first started gaming some 30 years ago in my early year (yes I'm no spring chicken). Lets just say I was quite satisfied about the experience of jumping through a jump portal.

    I'm going to be honest. CIG is getting their shit together slowly but surely. Some of us won't live to see 1.0, while others may have to wait until retirement. Those who stick around may see a masterpiece for gaming history. My only wish is, if they are simply going to nix features from the roadmap to focus on the core elements of the game, i.e server meshing, then do it from the start and stop wasting time and effort. Get static server meshing, then get dynamic server meshing. Resolve all current bugs in the process and stop scope creep. They should laser focus their efforts on server meshing and fixing ALL current bugs before introducing more features and then having to fix those bugs or worse change directions again (master modes).

    What evidence do you have from their previous behavior that shows they can stop scope creep and micromanagement?  Though I guess the Calder Singularity approaching does amp up the tension.

    Still, that mostly gooses the SQ42 production, as it's their best shot for getting something out the door.  But there too, what evidence do we have, etc...

    If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.

    imagine getting excited over going through a portal that's just a hidden loading screen.
    you should play portal and portal 2, it would blow your brain
