First of all, in some MMO's, you can fight a mob and you can see him wearing armor, and weapons and what not, so you kill him and he drops none of it. Is RV going to be like, what you see on a guy is what you get? For instance, if you are playing a Barbarian, and you see a Roman NPC walking down a path or something. He is wearing a set of nice armor and a sword and shield. If you take him out, does he drop all of this for you? And if so will you even be able to equip it?.
And secondly, if the answer to the first question is yes, then my second question is. If you were a Barbarian and did take out the Roman NPC and loot his stuff, will you then appear as a Roman if you equip it?... Obviously you won't be a Roman, but will you be able to fool Roman PC's and NPC's by disguising in their clothes?
Not exactly the right boards to be asking questions like that, but there weren't any other choices.
One dead man, a tragedy. One-million dead men, a statistic.

AFAIK, everything within reason is lootable off of things you kill (no severed ears here). But keep in mind that you have to carry it (or have a cart, pack animal, etc.), and it would probably slow you down a bit.
Roman armor might work as a disguise for Roman PCs (maybe if you shave ), but we've not heard anything about being able to fool NPCs. Perhaps they may implement a skill?
May there will some sort of disguise skill.
Or a general stealth/subterfuge skill.
I wonder if you can give your character a hair cut.
Those barbarian beards are a dead give away. Even for a man in armour.

Woot!
I do like the idea of a Roman Soldier putting on a gray cloak and disguising himself as a mere merchant.(HBO's Rome) Would be very cool to have an ambush party set up like this.
For those that watch HBO's Rome, this takes place in the 3rd episode which hasn't aired yet, but you get on HBO "On Demand" if you have cable. Prob is I have nothing new to watch this Sunday now. Damn my lack of patience.
About being able to wear the armour.. Although I wouldn't know, if (following the usual) Roma Victor follows the realism, you wouldn't be able to wear any armour he finds, due to size restrictions. Well, maybe some leather armour, but those legionaire cuirasses would only be wearable to characters of the approximate size.
Only assumptions
