Even if you have never played this game, even if you dont care and dont want to play it, watch this video.
This was posted and made by an eve member named Meridius. This is all ingame and made with fraps. To my knowledge this is all real Pvp and some PvE.

Its understood if you cancel you current game subsription or never enter another WoW battlegrounds again. There is no endgame in here. Your endgame is 0.0 space and Pvp. When i say Pvp, i mean pvp. Huge allainces, with huge fleet battles. Players controle everything in 0.0 space. Youll just have to see for yourself.

yes it is indeed a very nice looking game, i loved playing it first time
i keep going back to it after seeing how horrible all the other games are compared to it. The boring NPC combat system is more than made up by the PVP system. I guess the reason they really dont focus on non-complex/mission npc hunting is becuase its really not needed becuase theres no xp.
As for that other eve movie...lol. Thats pretty much ATUK for you summed up in 2 minutes. Dirty dirty ATUK

It may be old, but its still fantastic to watch. And as you speak, the "horrible" aspects of EVE are being tweaked away day by day. NPC's will soon show much better interaction, becoming more intelligent and harder to deal with if your ill-prepared. What am i on about? NPC's that come to each others rescue, start boosting each other (healing) and even trying nifty tactics out on you such as jamming so your unable to operate.
If theres something wrong in EVE right now, its being fixed.

Anybody have any more video suggestions? I've seen a few but these totally blow away any that I've seen before.
It's interesting how there's tons of fan videos for EVE Online but there's not a lot for other games. Is it just because I don't hear about them or am I right in assuming that EVE players put out more fan videos than players of other games?
There are a ton of videos in the EVE-Online forums under 'video'. My personal favorite at this point is either the new CH-1 Vanguard vid posted here..........or the one titled, "Why we do it".
As to the video numbers for eve, its pretty simple. Most games look like......well...........games. EVE lends itself to great vids simply because it is very VERY cinematic in nature, and with a quick ctrl-f9 the interface is outta the way, and fraps can record without overlay.
The videos also visually tell some of the stories that are occuring or have occurred in our universe. The Battle for Venal, Battle for Syndicate, Veangence of the Fallen/Exodus Chronicle all tell stories of wars and alliances...and on the scale that EVE is.......(read: VAST!), these become records of what has come before.
With only one SERVER, the videos mean more to the player base as the historical record is applicable to ALL who live there.
btw, labor day we had 14.5k players online. Yet another record.
Agree with the above poster. EVE just lends itself to videos. The game PLAYS like a movie in a lot of ways. SWG is another one that has a bunch of fan vids but even they don't really stack up to EVE's quality. Part of it is that in eve you're just looking at ship combat. In other MMO's you have to render the characters and that's infinitely harder to make it look really good (SWG again excells there) but even the best NPC's look pale in comparison to the graphics in EVE.
Partially because the EVE DEVS pay huge attention to minute details on the ships and partly because it's just easier to draw a believable ship and move it around than it is to render a person and animate them on a computer screen

most movies made by EVE players are stored at www.eve-files.com which is terribly slow for us North Americans, but Lyticus, A Pirate's Life is definately worth the wait.
I agree with above posters about EVE. When I play it I am always moving the camera angles around to get a more "cinematic" camera angle all the time.

I do that with stillpictures as well (old habit I suppose)
Oh and btw .. I think WoW also got tons of videos as well, don't know quality of them as I dont see them.
CH1-Vanguard is so beautiful !!!!!!
One of the best movies I ever saw was the one that PA made right before it lost all its core corps. Was beautiful with picture in picture and told a great story, just never got finished...
Another great movie was the last big movie the MC did, always quality work from them folks.
ATUK made a "movie" about their war with Xetic, but I'm not sure I can post the link here cause it uses some vulgar lancuage at the end.
