Can ninja still tank?

in Final Fantasy XI

I used to play this game last spring for about 2 months. i quit playing it cause skate season started. i was thinking of starting again with a galkan war/nin but i heard from some people you lose hate with utsusemi now. is this true? and can you still tank if it is?

    Yep, when a mob hits one of your shadows, you now lose some hate. Ninjas still tank, however, and in fact it doesn't seem to have hurt them all that much.
